"Of course Dad would be involved in the assassination." Diego remarks. "I should've known."
Diego, Five, and I moved into the kitchen area to talk about Dad. We only moved so that Lila and Elliott won't ask us so many questions. Plus, Lila still gives me a bad vibe.
I shrug. "Who knows if he actually is? He could easily be there for the parade just like all the other people that are going to be there."
Five paces back and forth. "Yeah, Diego. You're just jumping to conclusions."
"What else is he doing standing on the grassy knoll, holding an open black umbrella on a sunny day in Dallas, at the exact same moment the president gets shot?!" Diego asks, raising his tone.
Five stops pacing. "It doesn't look good. I'll admit that, but like Y/n suggested, he could just be there for the parade."
"He could using the umbrella to block the sun." I suggest. "If you haven't noticed, it's quite sunny here in Dallas."
Diego shakes his head. "No. No way. He has to be the signalman for the whole damn thing."
"Hey! Woah!" I jump out of my chair. "Slow your ass down, Diego. Seriously. You're being way too quick to just assume Dad's the one behind the president's assassination."
"No. It makes sense." Diego replies, shaking his head. "This is what Hazel was obviously trying to tell you guys. We have to stop Dad from killing the president."
"Diego, calm down. Alright? Dad was no Boy Scout, but presidential assassination?" Five asks. "It's never been his type of thing."
"How would you know? You skipped out on his golden years." Diego retorts.
I cross my arms. "Honestly, he wasn't missing out on anything worth mentioning and you know that. He made us train harder after Five left and made us train even harder after Ben died. You do remember our training, right?"
He nods slightly. "Of course I remember. I mentioned it at his funeral."
"Then act like you do." I reply, making him roll his eyes.
"Diego, look." Five says, grabbing Diego's attention. "We don't have time for this right now. Dad is clearly in Dallas, right? Let's just go talk to him. Maybe he can help us fix the timeline."
"Dallas is a big place." Diego notes. "We need to find him first."
I tap my finger against my chin. "Oh. If only we had some old-timey way of finding people and their addresses. That would be super helpful right now."
Diego sighs and walks away, obviously going to go get the address book. "Your sarcasm is getting on every last one of my damn nerves." He gets the address book and brings it back over to us and drops it on the table.
"Alright! Let's start simple. First name." Five suggests.
Diego looks through the book. "There's nothing here."
"Then try the company." I suggest. "D.S. Umbrella Manufacturing Co."
"Yeah." He looks at me, face to face. "I know the name." He starts turning in the book. "Uh..." He points at the book. "There it is. D.S. Umbrella. Eighty-two Olive. Let's go."
Diego lifts the projector screen to go to the stairs and Elliott begins letting out muffled shouts. "Is he okay to be left here like that?"
Five nods. "Yeah. He'll be fine."
"Uh, guys...what about Lila? Where is she?" I ask, making them look back where Elliott is and not see Lila. Five lets out a heavy sigh and Diego goes to look for her.
