I let go of Five's arm and sit down against the wall of one of the buildings forming the alleyway. "Five?"
He hums quizzically, rubbing the back of his neck.
I sigh. "Do you have any idea why I would feel, I don't know, some sort of rush of...adrenaline while killing those people?"
He sits down beside me, holding the fish in between his legs. "You weren't the only one that felt that way. I felt that rush too."
"We shouldn't though." I reply. "I mean, we spent our childhoods, training to be heroes of the city and now look at us...killing people just so we could help ourselves and our family get back home safe."
"They made bad events happen all over the timeline." He replies. "Besides, we don't even belong here. Most of our siblings are doing things that could've already made minor or major effects in our present. So, if it's different when we get back...blame them."
I briefly raise my eyebrows in slight amusement. "Yeah. That's true. I mean, Klaus did start a cult."
He nods. "And Allison is married to a man from this timeline."
I sigh. "You can't forget about Luther working for Ruby or Diego stalking Oswald and Vanya hasn't done anything, well, anything that we know of anyway."
"Then there's us." He stands up and helps me up. "The two responsible ones of the group and we're the ones that get stuck with the punishment." He gestures to our bodies.
"Yeah. It sucks..." I sigh and look around. "When is she suppose to be here? I'd really like to wash up."
"I'm behind you, dear." I turn around at her voice and she looks us up and down. "By the looks of you two, I can see that you got the job done. I must say...blood looks good on the both of you."
I raise an eyebrow. 'Did she seriously just-' I cut myself off in thought. It's too disgusting.
Five abruptly holds the fish out in her direction.
She gasps. "AJ!" She takes the bag from his hands and starts cackling and cooing at the bag.
I look at the ground just so I don't have to look at her anymore. 'She's officially lost her mind. Maybe she should go to the asylum she sent her daughter to.'
"Why are you two so quiet?" She asks. "I thought you two would be buzzing after this morning's slaughter."
Her eyes land on me. "Especially you, Eight. It had probably been years since you killed so many people at once."
I roughly swallow the little lump in my throat. "It didn't please me one bit."
"Oh, come on. You didn't find that fun? Not even the slightest?" She questions.
"Leave her alone." Five seethes. "By the way, all this killing? We're done with it."
"What?" She whips out a handkerchief from her coat. "Am I suppose to take that seriously?" She licks a spot on the handkerchief and starts wiping off Five's cheek, disgusting me.
"What we did today, we did for our family." Five replies. "We did it to save the world. Not to please you."
"Please." She retracts the handkerchief. "Spare me your little 'assassins with hearts of gold' routine, will you?"
I roll my eyes. "Can we just get this over with?"
"Fine." She crouched down slightly and picks up a briefcase. "Here. This will get you and your siblings back to 2019. You have ninety minutes."
