Chapter 29

' You called ... '

In my tiny existing life, I have never seen an alpha break down like this. Sometimes my father did but my mother always was there for him, it's rare. I know having huge responsibility on your shoulders is too much, it's hard to show your weakness since there are enemies everywhere. But it's tougher when you are all alone and no one is by your side, it's more suffocating than it looks.

I know that I barely know this alpha who helped me in my lowest and with my clan but why do I have this attachment with him? I had never seen him, we barely talked about ourselves and more to that, I didn't even know him properly.

But here I am, in his arms, in the dimly lit room. Comforting an alpha is a big deal, but handling his breakdown is very much of a challenge.

"Are you feeling okay now?"

I ask, playing with his hair in my fingers, his arms around my waist as I sit on his lap, embarrassing but I have no other way to help him.

"Kinda."

His muffled voice comes out, his arms tighten around me.

"Do you need anything? Water?"

He shakes his head, it is more like handling a child than an alpha.

"Just you..."

An answer comes out and it makes my heart jump. It's unusual, so unusual that I find myself leaning against his head.

"Do you find comfort in me?"

The alpha lifts his face, looking at my eyes as his eyes shine yellow.

"I do."

A smile appears on my face before pressing my lips on his forehead. This whole feeling is foreign to me.

"Okay.."

It's past 2 now, seems like this alpha calmed down but the problem is, why isn't he letting me go?

"Um..are you okay now?"

"Hm?"

I know you acting now! Quit it before I kick you off!

"My legs are numb..."

"Hm?"

I swear! If he doesn't quit this let me go now! I'll surely kick his ass!

"Min.."

"Hm?"

I exhale, trying to be calm but my anger is just poking out each second, I have been in this position for nearly 2 hours now! Gosh, my legs are like planks.

"Can you..uh...let go?"

The alpha lifts his face, his orbs shine as the little light reflects them. He exhaled before unwrapping his arms around me, finally, I leaned back, my back was aching also from sitting straight for that long.

He quietly moves aside to make some space for me which was nice of him but I can't move because my legs are numb.

"Do you need help?"

Finally, he spoke some words other than 'hm', I don't know but I do need help to stretch my legs before properly sitting down.
