Chapter 19
"Advance Happy Birthday, honey." Mom beamed.
"Uhm, thanks?" I said, giving her a quick squeeze. My birthday's in 3 days.
"So, we need to give your presents now." Dad piped in excitedly.
"Oh no, you don't have to give me any more stuff. The island getaway was enough." I reasoned out.
"No it isn't. We barely spend any money on that outing and that was more like Adam's gift for you or something." Mom protested.
"Anyway." Dad intervened. "We know you want to have that roadtrip so I've arranged something for you and your friends for the next 2 days."
"What is it?" I asked, half excited, half wary.
"I've rented a bus for you and your friends. And also, here." he handed me an envelope.
I opened it. It was full of money.
"Dad, I can't-" I started to protest.
He raised his hand, motioning for me to stop talking. I stopped.
"Hear me out. We barely spend any money on that island getaway and this money is meant for your 18th party which you refused to do so me and your mother decided to give you this money as our gift."
"But the bus was enough." I pointed out.
He ignored me. Gee thanks. I mentally rolled my eyes.
"Here's the plan. You will leave tomorrow and go to wherever you wanna go but I suggest you go to Disneyland or Seaworld San Diego and then on the day of your birtjday, you drive back here and we'll have dinner. Okay?"
"But-"
"It's really no big deal. We wanna do this for you. 18 is pretty important and it is pretty special." Mom said, smiling over at me.
I gave in. "Fine but can I bring Anna and Gio?"
"Ofcourse, just take care of them okay?"
"Sure. Thank you for this Ma and Dad." I smiled gratefully at them. "You're the best parents in the world."
-"I can't wait to meet him!" Tin squealed to me as we entered the building.
"Yea. Me too, kiddo." I said, emphasizing the last word.
She shot me a glare. "Don't act like you're not excited for this too, Missy."
I laughed. "Touché."We were in Disneyland and we're about to meet the famous Mickey Mouse.
"There he is!" Tin exclaimed as he pointed to a huge mouse mascot.
She immediately walked over to him dragging Anna, Gio and Ben with her. I noticed Xander hurrying behind them as well.
I laughed and joined them. "So, Mickey, huh?" I said, nudging him. "I kinda pegged you as a Superman kind of guy."
"I-I p-promised m-my sister to meet Mickey for her!" he stammered defensively.
"Don't worry, I don't judge." I said innocently, winking at him.
"Stop bullying Xander." Shane scolded me lightly.
"I wasn't!" I said, shooting him my angelic look.
He laughed. "You're no angel."
"I'm just me" I sang.
He rolled his eyes but sang the next lyrics anyway.
"But I will love you endlessly."
"Cheesy." I commented, crinkling my nose which made him laugh.
