Chapter 16

Ring ring

"Hello?" I said wearily. Still no answer.

Well, fuck this. I thought and hit end call

Ring ring

"What do you fucking want? Say something." I snapped at whoever was on the other line. He or she is getting on my nerves.

"Whoa, hey there love. It's me. I just want to tell you that I'm outside your house." Shane, who was the caller said innocently.

"Oh. Sorry. Uhh, come on in. The door's open." I said glumly.

I heard a few shuffles in the background and then seconds later, Shane appeared right in front of me. He smiled widely at me and hang up his phone. I did the same, well, minus the smile part.

He furrowed his eyebrows whrn he noticed that I didn't smile back. "What's wrong?"

I sighed. "Someone has been calling my cell and the caller doesn't say anything. It's annoying."

Shane chuckled and plopped down beside me. "Maybe it's just a prank? Or one of your fans who got ahold of your number and he or she is too starstruck to say something?"

Hmmm. That didn't cross my mind.
I nodded. "Yea maybe. That did happened before."

Shane grinned at me and put his arms around me. "See? So don't stress yourself. Just put your phone in silent mode or just throw it outside a window." he joked.

I gave him a small smile. "Okay. what're you doing here?"

His grin got bigger and he suddenly stood up from his seat, making the couch bounce.

"Riley and I found something. It's im your bucketlist. Go get ready and bring Kate and the kids with you, okay?" he instructed giddily.

"Uhh okay?" I said, confused but walked upstairs anyway.

I knocked on everyone's door and told them to get ready. Then I went to my room and got dressed. Before I went back to Shane, I put on my phone in silent mode.

"Ready?" Shane asked after I descended down the stairs.

"I guess." I said and we all followed him out of the house.

He led us to a big old truck wherr Riley was waiting. He gave us a small wave and we all waved back. I noticed a tarpaulin covering tha back of the truck but before I could ask anything, Shane was already removing the tarpaulin.

"Ta-daaaa!" he cheered once he finished removing the tarp.

We all peeked inside. Kites. 6 kites in different colors, shapes and sizes.

I smiled widely at Shane, who was looking at me expectantly. "Where did you guys get these? These are rare nowadays. Ohmygosh, this is amazing!" I gushed.

Shane shrugged. "Riley and I pulled a few strings and voila!" he said. "Oh I just made a pun! Get it? Pull a few strings because kites?" he explained.

Damn he was adorable but I bit the inside of my cheek to stop myself from smiling.

Riley and Shane took us to a meadow. Gio called dibs on the superman's
càpe kite, Anna took the butterfly shaped kite, Kate was holding a pink heels shaped kite and Riley's was a batman shaped kite. Shane and I were holding the good ol basic diamond shaped kites. His was black while mine was blue.

"You guys are boring." Riley remarked when he saw our kites.

I stuck out my tongue at him childishly. Riley chuckled. "Very mature, Khaels" he smirked and walked away
