The weekend had come in so fast, and today was the day that Denver would be having a sit down with her parents to make them aware of the situation. She was nervous as hell she couldn't lie, but working with her therapist made her realize that it was okay to be vulnerable and have support whenever she needed it. She was so busy trying to avoid the topic that she neglected the fact that it was only doing her more harm.

She was finishing up at her hair appointment and right after she would be making the trip to her parents house.

"Alright boo, I'm all done" Carmen said as she unbuttoned the drape and pulled it off of Denver

"I love this for me, my stylist never miss" She had decided on a middle part with curtain bangs and big pretty curls. She had honey blonde highlights throughout her off black tresses and it complimented her round face well.

"Oh you know im gone handle the business" Carmen smiled as she begin to tidy her space back up. She wiped the chair down with a disinfectant wipe and then started to sweep the fallen hair on the floor into a pile.

"Well I'm gone text you later baby girl, I'm about to head to the 'rents house"

"Okay and be safe!!" Carmen yelled from behind as Denver made her exit out of the shop. She loved her early morning appointments with Carmen, she'd made the mistake of booking an afternoon appointment one Saturday before and she vowed to never do it again. The shop was packed from the front door to the back, and they weren't lacking on the gossip. That was one thing Denver really had a distaste for, she hated gossip and drama.

Hopping into her car, she started the engine before pressing the car's display to call her mom. It was creeping up on about 9:30 and she was hoping both her mom and dad were up.

"What can I do for you Ms. Williams"

She smacked her teeth "Ma, are you up?? I'm on the way to your house"

"Yes me and daddy are about to eat breakfast, you better hurry up before he eat it all"

She was hungry, but if it was left up to her dad he would eat her breakfast, his and everybody else's. Saint was greedy as hell, he acted like he was still a growing boy, she assumed his metabolism had slowed down years ago.

"Mama, fix me some food. Dont let your husband play in my face like that"

"Girl whatever, I'll see you when you get here. I love you and drive safe"

"Love you too" She laughed as her mom ended the call

After about thirty minutes, she was pulling into her parents' driveway. She rushed to get out the car once her purse, phone and keys were in her hand. She located their key on her key ring, and climbed the stairs before unlocking the door.

"I know my food better be in here" She yelled out making her way into the kitchen

"And if it's not, just tell me what the fuck you gone do. I pay the bills up in this bitch" Saint said from his seat as he shoved a piece of bacon into his mouth. The plate he had in front of him could just about feed three people easy.

"So thats why yo' gut been extending over all your pants huh" Denver joked. She had filled her plate up with grits, eggs, a few slices of bacon and two biscuits. She herself needed to cut back, but food was just so damn good.

"I dont hear yo' mama complaining, thats all that matters to me. She the only one that see this stomach and thangs"

"Yuck"

"Alright out with it Monae, you didn't come all this way for food and jokes with your daddy"

Her chewing came to a halt as she thought about how she would come out and say what she had to say. How could she bring this up over breakfast? How would she be able to stop her 300 pound dad, when he got his ass up to leave the home like she knew he would?

"Um me and Semaj aren't getting married" Both of her parents looked at her with wide eyes, they were so sure the couple was that this news had come as a shock.

"What happened baby? When did this happen? Are you okay" her mom spat out question after question while her dad sat with his arm folded waiting for her to say whatever else was on her chest. She was thankful that her scars had cleared up or breakfast wouldn't have even gotten this far.

"Thea let her speak"

Just say it girl. "He-" Vivid images of that night came flooding in back to back.

"He what?" Saint said with one of his eyebrows lifted.

"One night we were arguing and he hit me"

"HE DID WHAT?! OH HELL NAW" Saint jumped up from his spot at the island and speed walked out the kitchen

"Saint!!" "Daddy!!" Althea yelled out the same time as Denver

No words were spoken between the two women as the heard a slew of curse words escape his mouth. Saint came back into view now dressed in a hoodie that matched his gray nike sweatpants. He had on a pair of white and gray airmax, and his gun was occupying his right hand.

"Daddy please! Just let me finish, this is why I didn't want to say anything" Tears were threatening to fall from her eyes, and that was the only thing that got his attention.

"Saint, baby just come sit down please" Althea knew her husband and his capabilities. It had been a long time since that side of him was brought out, but for his child he would blow up the entire world if it came down to it.

"I need you to hear me, and I need your support on this" Her therapist had given her some tips on how to treat such a delicate situation. She instructed Denver to make them hear her, make them listen to her, and to make sure that they gave her the support she needed. She had went weeks now without their comfort, and right now that was all she wanted. All she needed.

With a racing heart and a stubborn temper, Saint claimed his original seat at the island. His leg shook continuously, all he could think about was finding Semaj and doing him in the worst way. He felt like he was having an out of body experience as his mind created many vivid scenarios of him torturing Semaj.

"Daddy? Are you listening" His intertwined hands supported his head as he nodded yes

Taking a deep breath she finally let everything out. From the broken ribs, to the broken nose, right on down to the minutes he took her body without her permission. The pictures she showed them made it even worse. Saint's body felt like it would explode in flames at any moment, while Althea was busy emptying the contents of her stomach into the kitchen trash.

Denver was doing pretty good holding it all in, until Saint wrapped his arms around her. Althea stood from afar watching the two with tears rolling down her face. She was in disbelief that the man they were ready to hand their daughter off to had brought so much pain to her, mentally and physically. She was sick that she hadn't picked up on the vibe beforehand, she honestly thought he was everything a parent could ask for in a man. She was way off.

"Saint let us talk for a minute okay?" Althea croaked out

"I'll be in the living room, come join me when you and mama finish okay?" Lovingly, he held her face in his large hands. He placed a sweet kiss on her forehead before stalking out of the kitchen, with his own tears falling. He turned the tv on and turned the volume up slightly before breaking down. He was more hurt than anything, all he ever asked for since becoming a parent was his child to remain out of harm's way. Not only had this nigga put his hands on Denver, but he took something that wasn't his to take. Sad, angry, confused... no LIVID, that was the perfect word to describe his range of emotions.

Comfortably, Denver sat in her mother's embrace in silence. Neither of them could find the right words to say, but Althea needed the comfort just as much as Denver did. Her mother held her tight as she prayed for her peace, for her broken spirit and for healing over her battered body.

"Thank you" Denver sighed heavily. She planned to spend the rest of the day at her parents' home, receiving the love and care that she yearned for days now.

While the mother and daughter duo continued to hold on to one another in the kitchen, Saint was in the living room making a plan to take Semaj off of the Earth permanently. He was going to chill for the time being, but this was something he couldn't just let go.
