"I'm just checkin in on you, see how you doing?" CJ voiced sounded through the phone. It was the next day and Denver was laid out on her couch watching movies. Sundays were chill days for her most of the time, so she was taking advantage of her morning.
"I'm fine CJ, you asked me that last night" She laughed
"I know but shit, thats a lot for anybody to deal with"
He had seen a lot of bullshit in his lifetime, but Denver's life was really like a sick ass lifetime movie. It was like one thing after another, and he just wanted her to know she had his support.
"I was just about to invite you over for breakfast, but if you gone keep bringing up my gay ex-fiance then I'm not feeding your funky ass"
CJ laughed as he jumped up to put on his shoes. He wasn't hearing that shit, and he definitely wasn't turning down food. He loved spending time with Denver anyways so it was a no-brainer. CJ wasn't ready to admit it out loud, but the feelings he was developing for Denver damn near knocked the air out of his lungs. It was happening so fast and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
"I'm on the way" He said before he hung up
Their homes were about five minutes apart from one another, so it wouldn't take him long to get there. Realizing how fast he could get there, she felt the top of her head and jumped up. Her decision to sleep without her bonnet the night before had become a regret as she looked in the mirror. True enough it was fall, but she definitely didn't want to look like a scarecrow. Choosing against actually doing her hair, she threw her satin bonnet over her wild mane.
Her doorbell went off, and her heart began to speed up knowing it was CJ. She too was filled with emotions over the unspoken budding romance, but she knew it was too early to jump back into something. She was still healing from the trauma Semaj caused, and she knew she couldn't give her all to someone just yet.
"Damn it don't take that long to open the door" He pushed pass her
"Boy dont walk up in my house like you pay the damn bills, ugly ass"
"I dont smell no breakfast cooking suga, I'm starving"
Kicking off his shoes, he plopped down on the sectional and changed the movie that was playing. He put on the movie 13 Ghosts and got comfortable. Denver stood back and watched with her arms folded, her eyes formed into slits just watching him.
"So you not gone help me?"
Ignoring her, he continued watching the movie. Denver smacked her teeth and made her way into her kitchen. She knew cheese grits would definitely be on the menu, she was just having a hard time figuring out the other items she would make.
A few minutes short of an hour, she was had made up fried chicken, cheese grits, eggs and buttery biscuits. She hadn't had fried chicken and grits since her mom cooked them last, so she was for sure about to enjoy this meal.
"CJ!"
He came walking into the kitchen, getting distracted watching her move back and forth in the kitchen with her shorts on. The gray cotton shorts hugged her hips, thighs and ass perfectly. He bit his lips looking at the bottom of her ass hanging out, with every step she took it jiggled and CJ felt himself get hard.
"CJ!" She yelled again. He was so dazed thinking about her ass, he hadn't realized she was now turned around asking him how many pieces of chicken he wanted.
"My bad damn, what you say?" He smirked
"How many pieces you want pervert?"
"As many as you can fit on that plate" And he was dead serious
