What were you doing out in a forest again? Oh yeah, cause Eduardo dragged you all the way out here for a hike. How fun.

Not like you had much say in the matter, he literally dragged you off the couch and tossed you in his car without explanation. At least he was generous enough to buy you lunch afterwards.

That was the only reason you actually came. The only reason....yeah

"Let's go sunshine, use those legs for once and hurry up"

You groan, mocking Eduardo silently as you hurry your walking to match his. He was a big dude and had long legs, not your fault he was faster.

"Why are we even out here? Couldn't we've just stayed home?"

Eduardo chuckles to himself before covering it up with his signature frown, rolling his eyes at your question while also slowing his pace

"What, can't handle being out of the house for more than an hour?"

You elbowed him playfully, earning a small shove from him in response

"Watch it idiot, I'll leave you here if you keep it up"

"I'm the most tolerable person you know, you ain't leaving me nowhere"

You smirk, and before Eduardo could snap back you suddenly run up ahead with a big smile and a gasp. The brunette was confused, to say the least, so he just followed along with a quirked brow

"Do I even wanna know what's got you so excited?"

"Mushrooms!! And lots of them! Come here, come here!!"

Grabbing Eduardo by the arm you pull him off the trail towards a fallen down tree, a bunch of mushrooms littering the decaying bark and surrounding foliage

His face flushed the faintest of pinks at your touch, almost unnoticeable due to his sun-kissed skin

"Look at all of them! Aren't they precious!!?"

"Uh....yeah, they're just mushroom—"

You gasp again but this time out of false offence, placing your hand over your heart as you stare up at him

"Just mushrooms!? How dare you, sir! I'll have you know mushrooms are some of the greatest things in the world"

Eduardo kinda just stood there for a bit, looking between you and the plethora of mushrooms littering the ground. Who knew you liked mushrooms this much

"You're.....an idiot,"
He chuckled, shaking his head and letting a small smile actually stay on his face
"You do realise a lot of mushrooms are poisonous and could kill you?"

"Yeah, but that's why you don't eat the bad ones. Ever heard of 'look but don't touch' ?"

He rolled his eyes, shuffling past you to get back en route to the hiking trail.

"Whatever you say short-stack," He clears his throat a little, rubbing the back of his neck

"Now let's go. I've uh....got something I wanna show ya"

You tilt your head curiously, narrowing your eyes at the large man walking ahead of you. He had...a surprise? Eduardo, your grouchy roommate who seemingly hates everyone, has something to show you?

Ok now you're a little scared. Either it's something normal like a view or he's actively trying to kill you and just wanted to ease you into a false sense of security

Either way you still follow, glancing back at the mushrooms in case you don't make it out alive.

Obviously he wouldn't actually kill you, right? He's not that terrible of a person....

Eduardo leads you down a path for a few minutes, a comfortable yet slightly awkward silence befalling the both of you. The brunette would steal small glances before quickly looking away, his signature scowl gone

"Can you uh...close your eyes?"

He glances over at you but doesn't meet your eye, trying to act normal despite the slight red to his ears. You nod and go to close your eyes

"You're not gonna murder me are ya? Cause if so, I'll never forgive you~"

You tease, trying to lighten the tense mood with a joke. It was your defense mechanism, you couldn't help it

And Eduardo couldn't help but snicker, placing a hand on your shoulder and guiding you blindly to wherever he sought fit

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna kill ya. Yet. You keep up with that attitude of yours and I might~"

Eduardo nudges you forward with his shoulder and positions you to face left. He lets go and moves beside you, his voice sounding almost excited when he speaks

"Ok..open!"
