🎧▷ after hours - the weeknd"Yamada Satsuki..." Haru trailed off as he read through Suki's public records. Narrowing the pool of women named Suki who were currently residing in Seoul wasn't easy, especially with how little seemed to even be on Suki's public records.
"No updated address on file? Really?" Jungkook nearly groaned at the sight.
"The latest address was an apartment complex in Gangnam, but they demolished that to build a school years ago," Haru sighed, matching Jungkook's frustration. "It's probably fake, anyway. But you're right. She does own a bus card."
"Can we trace back her purchases? See which stations she might've gotten on and off?"
"Yeah." Haru typed into his computer as Jungkook sat beside him, nearly hovering over his shoulder in anticipation. They had been researching Suki for a while now. Jungkook didn't even go home ever since he watched Suki leave, still dressed in the clothes he had worn to meet her for the first time.
The bus purchases were scattered all around Seoul. It looked like The Temptress was smart. Even through her bus card, she wasn't going to let anyone build her geographic profile.
They hit another roadblock. But then Haru found something else.
"Her entire family is deceased. Her mom died of ovarian cancer. Her father and step-father were murdered, but the cases were buried because they had no leads." Haru's fingers paused on the keys. "Woah. Looks like she went missing around the time her professor was murdered too. They were looking all over the city for her."
"How did each of these men die?"
"Suki's father and step-father were shot in the head. The professor was stabbed in his home."
"Were they bad people?"
"Bad people?"
Jungkook shrugged. "If she's the one who murdered them, she wouldn't have done it for no reason."
Haru researched further. "Can't find anything on the dads, but the professor was all over the news after his murder for sexually assaulting a handful of his female students."
"Assuming she did murder him, she fled the country after it and came to Seoul around the time The Flaming Four started to make themselves known?"
"Yeah... Looks like it." Haru felt a chill cascade over him.
"These sort of tendencies, along with the pure disdain for men, are likely rooted in her experiences with the men she grew up around, so it makes sense that her first kill would be her father."
"She was seventeen when it happened."
"So how old does that make her now?"
"Twenty-five."
