"i just had to reach my goals
never knew i needed you though"

The secrets Jungkook kept stored deep within himself often suffocated him long enough that he would avoid the people around him entirely. The sun continued to rage with every passing day, not a speck of moonlight drizzle in the summer air, but he still spent his small breaks standing outside the office building, smoking a cigarette alone rather than feigning busyness at his desk so that the opportunity for Yeonjun to ask questions could never arise.

It had only been two days since he last saw Suki—the root to every secret weighing on him. He'd let the smoke flow through his lungs and pass his lips as he scowled up at the blazing sun, unsure about whether or not he was truly angry that she had come into his life in the first place.

Because while he indeed found The Temptress, she was not at all what he was expecting. And he certainly never expected to fall into bed with her. Or actually entertain the idea of forming some sort of alliance.

No matter how tempting, he didn't know if he should take up her offer. He didn't trust her one bit, but if this could lead to some bigger enemy—someone perhaps more dangerous than The Flaming Four themselves, then was it foolish to pass it up?

The Flame. That's what she had called him. She had never confirmed that he was their boss, but Jungkook knew. Could feel it in her gaze. In her urgency. The Flame was someone who had power over them, someone with enough of it that he'd go so far as to make sure The Sniper completely vanished off the face of the earth.

Eun once said it was the provider who ran the entire thing. Jungkook wasn't so certain the provider was actually the provider, but The Flame instead. And if that was the case, he had enough power, enough connections, to secure Eun's eternal silence within the confines of his jail cell.

He was not a public criminal. There was no title like The Bomber or The Temptress running through the media almost daily. No public crimes linking him or displaying him to the world. The Flame worked silently, and it made him more dangerous than the rest.

Over these past two days, Jungkook thought long and hard, wondering if he should agree to Suki's offer and if he should tell anyone about it. Haru, maybe. Jungkook could work with Suki. Find The Flame and get enough to properly put an end to this terror he's causing. And when that's over with, he could turn around and put the rest behind bars after.

It seemed foolish to let that chance slip. But at the same time, it felt equally as foolish to make any sort of bargain with Yamada Satsuki in the first place.

The sun was finally setting when Jungkook headed home for that night, exhausted from weighing the pros and cons nearly all day.
