"if this night comes to an end
we will surely return home"

When Suki returned to The Stack that night, it was already midnight. The moon was full that night, shining high above Seoul and concealing it in its glowing presence.

She walked through the door and nearly tripped on a discarded pair of shoes. She was about to curse someone for ignorantly leaving their shoes on the floor, but she realized they were her own. It was odd. It wasn't like she was the most fondest user of the shoe rack, but she had also never tripped over her shoes before.

Slowly, she picked up the shoes and placed them on the shoe rack. Weird, how they weren't on there to begin with.

She ventured further into the apartment, rounding the corner to see Namjoon awake and in the kitchen. He had a beaker filled with a brown liquid burning over a bunsen burner.

Suki's eyes widened. "What did I tell you about doing your chemistry shit in the kitchen?!"

Namjoon startled, not having heard Suki come home, and spun around with his hands up. "Relax, Yamada. It's just coffee."

"At midnight?" She raised her high tops to the bar stools at the kitchen island and began undoing her laces.

"I have an assignment tomorrow and not enough material to execute it. Need the coffee to stay up making some more."

"So why aren't you using the coffee machine? Or the stove? Or anything else?" She got both shoes off, lazily tossing them to the floor.

"The gas is off. The Flame is sending someone to come fix it tomorrow." He looked her up and down, examining her outfit. It was just a hoodie and jeans, but there was something especially unnerving about her expression—almost as if she were unnerved herself. "Where have you been?"

She walked to her room, saying behind her shoulder, "You're not supposed to ask that."

"Well that was before your face was plastered all over Seoul for being the most dangerous criminal in the city. They're pinning Dane Mason's death entirely on you."

Suki groaned, peeling her hoodie off of her body and tossing it into a corner of her room. "I know that. I don't need you reminding me."

"Great," he said from the kitchen. "So where were you?"

Suki changed into her sleepwear—pajama pants and a t-shirt—and walked back out to the kitchen. "Where's Hoseok and Yoongi?"
