The end of the semester was quickly approaching, and with it the finals.
One night, a few days before a very important exam, Crystal knocked on Minho's door.
"Yea?" He asked, and she reluctantly opened it and went inside.
"Sorry for disturbing you..." she started, her eyes trailing off to Minho's desk where lots of books were scattered around. He looked stressed as well, there were dark eyes around his eyes and she hated having to disturb him, but she was in a crisis.
"No worries. What's up?" He brushed his hand through his hair and rubbed his eyes.
"I was reading about this concept but I can't figure out what it means..." she started, then quickly backtracked, being sure she's a pain in the ass. "But you must also be busy, so I'll just ask one of my classmates tomorrow-"
"Come here." He gestured her to come inside, for she was still in the doorframe holding onto her book protectively. "Show me."
She went in like a little child being scolded by their parents and handed him her book, pointing to the one concept she couldn't grasp.
"Why don't you sit down for a bit while I read it?" He smiled and urged her to sit down on the bed, and she obliged, watching him attentively read the paragraph she highlighted.
She didn't make any sounds, not wanting to disturb him as he carefully went through all the lines.
"Okay." He spoke after a few minutes. "What don't you understand from this?" He smiled, so Crystal began explaining the points she had trouble with. It was just a dumb thing probably, but no matter how many times she read it, she couldn't get anything from it.
Maybe she was just tired.
After hearing her out, Minho went with her through all the lines and they had a very proactive conversation on the subject that lasted for about an hour.
"Thank you so much, you're a lifesaver!" She spoke happily after their talk. She was glad to finally understand what she's been struggling with for two days now. Minho had provided her with real life examples as well, and it finally made sense.
"I'm glad I could help you. And I'm glad I actually remembered that stuff." He laughed.
"Do you want some tea?" Crystal smiled.
"I'd kill for a coffee actually."
"No." She smiled cheerfully. "It's too late for coffee, but I will make you a green tea. It has caffeine as well, but it's better for you."
"Okay." He chuckled. "Green tea it is."
There were these small things that Crystal did, which Minho noticed. After he took care of her when she was sick, they seemed to get a bit closer. She was more relaxed, and she started doing small acts of service for him. Every morning, she would leave out breakfast for him, either some fruit, or a sandwich. She woke up earlier than him somehow, even if he would set an alarm. Or she would grab something for him, a protein bar most times, when she went to the supermarket. Or she would wash his dishes if he didn't have enough time to do so between Uni and practice. Or she would do these small things when taking care of him – convince him to drink tea instead of coffee, texting him to grab a jacket before heading out because it's cold, or leaving an umbrella out for him to grab if it would rain that day.
"Would you also like something to eat?" Crystal asked. "Maybe a sandwich? I bought some ham earlier today."
"Sounds good." He smiled. There she was, once again, doing something for him. He wanted to do something for her as well, so he was glad she came and talked to him about what she didn't understand.
