Asher stood there, his eyes blazing with anger and disappointment, as he watched me frantically try to mop up the water with some towels. I knew it was futile, but I couldn't just stand there and do nothing. The water was starting to seep into the cracks of the walls and the electrical sockets, and the situation was getting more dangerous by the minute.

But just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, I heard the sound of approaching footsteps outside the laundry room. And before I could even process what was happening, the door burst open and in walked Trisha, Asher's girlfriend.

"Oh my god, what the hell happened here?" she exclaimed, her eyes widening in shock at the sight of the flooded room.

And as she turned to face me, a sly smirk spread across her face. "You really are useless, aren't you? I don't know why Asher even bothered taking you in as his roommate."

I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment and anger at her words, but before I could even respond, Asher stepped forward and placed a hand on Trisha's arm.

"That's enough, Trisha," he said in a low voice, his eyes fixed on me. "I'll take care of this. You should go back to your room."

Trisha hesitated for a moment, her eyes flickering between Asher and me, before finally nodding and walking out of the room. But I couldn't shake off the feeling that she was up to something, and that this was only the beginning of my troubles.

Just when I thought that her absence would make him ease up a bit on the issue, he continued with the scolding.

"You're nothing but a useless omega," he spat, his voice dripping with disdain. "You can't even handle a simple task like laundry without causing a disaster. What good are you?"

I felt my cheeks heat up in embarrassment as Asher's words pierced through me like knives. I knew I had messed up, but I didn't expect him to be this harsh. My eyes started to water, and I tried to fight back the tears, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of seeing me cry.

"But I- I didn't mean to..." I started, but he cut me off with a sharp glare.

"Enough with your excuses! You need to take responsibility for your actions and stop being so damn careless!" he spat, his tone venomous.

I felt like a small child being scolded by a strict teacher, and the weight of his words made my chest feel heavy. I wished I could disappear, wished I could make things right, but I knew that his anger had already caused irreversible damage.

But just as I was about to speak up and defend myself, Tyler burst into the room, his expression a mixture of concern and firmness.

"Asher, man, I think you're being too harsh on her," Tyler said, his tone gentle but firm. "She made a mistake, but she's not a child. She deserves to be treated with some respect."

"Respect? Did you just say respect?! For an incompetent omega?! You have got to be joking!" Asher retorted.

Tyler's jaw tightened, and for a moment, the two of them just glared at each other, neither backing down.

But eventually, Tyler spoke up, his voice still calm but firm. "You can't talk to her like that, Asher. She's trying her best, and you know that. Besides, it hasn't been too long since she got into this academy and we all have our off days. Don't be so damn harsh."

Asher's face contorted in anger, and he took a step forward, getting in Tyler's face. "I'll talk to her however I want, Tyler. She's my omega, not yours. And if she can't handle even the simplest of tasks, then what good is she to me?"

"Your omega? You seem to be suffering from short term memory loss, brother because the last time that I checked, she was assigned to all three of us so don't start claiming what is not solely yours!" He deadpanned.

I felt a lump form in my throat, and I tried to interject, to calm them down. But Asher turned to me, his eyes blazing with fury.

"She has already said she's sorry. Why can't you drop it?!" Tyler's expression hardened.

Asher scoffed, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Oh, she's sorry? That makes everything okay, right? Well, sorry doesn't fix the water damage she caused or the fact that she's a liability to this pack and the academy as a whole."

"Hazel," Tyler ignored him and  turned to me, his grip on my shoulder softening. "Don't listen to his words. You're not incompetent or worthless. You made a mistake, but that doesn't define you."

I felt tears pricking at the corners of my eyes as I looked at Tyler's kind face. But before I could even say a word, Asher interrupted.

"Enough of this nonsense," he spat.

"You. Get back to cleaning this mess. And don't you dare mess it up again," he snarled, pointing to the water on the floor.

I nodded, my heart heavy with shame and humiliation, and began to clean up the water as Asher and Tyler continued to argue, their voices growing louder and more heated by the minute.

As I scrubbed the floor with a mop, trying to ignore the argument behind me, I couldn't help but wonder if I truly was a liability to the pack and the academy. Maybe Asher was right. Maybe I was just a useless omega who couldn't do anything right. The tears that had been threatening to spill finally fell down my cheeks, mixing with the water on the floor. And in that moment, I couldn't help but wonder if I truly belonged here.

As Tyler and Asher continued to argue, their voices growing louder and more heated by the minute, I couldn't help but feel like I was caught in the middle of a storm. Asher's harsh words were like thunder, shaking me to my core, while Tyler's gentle voice was like a ray of sunshine, giving me hope.

But suddenly, a third voice interrupted their argument.

"Hey, what's going on here?" Zane's voice boomed, as he entered the laundry room. His eyes darted from Asher to Tyler to me, taking in the chaotic scene in front of him.

Asher stepped forward, his eyes blazing with anger. "Hazel flooded the laundry room," he spat, his words filled with venom. "And now she's being coddled like a helpless child."

Tyler shook his head. "She made a mistake, Asher. We all do. There's no need to berate her like this."

But Asher was not in the mood to listen to reason. "I don't need you to tell me how to handle a situation or lead my pack," he growled. "Hazel needs to learn the consequences of her actions, and she won't learn them if we keep treating her like she's made of glass."

I flinched at his words, feeling a hot wave of anger wash over me. Who was he to decide how I should be treated? But before I could even speak up, Zane stepped forward, his tall figure looming over us like a protective shield.

"That's enough," he said, his voice calm but firm. "We're all on the same side here, and fighting like this won't solve anything. Asher, maybe you need to take a step back and cool off. And Hazel, Tyler's right. Don't let his words get to you. You're better than this."

I felt a sense of relief wash over me at Zane's words, grateful for his intervention. But I couldn't shake off the feeling that this was far from over. The tension between Asher and Tyler was like a ticking time bomb, waiting to explode. And I had a feeling that I was the reason for it.
