~Hazel~

"Tyler, I can explain." I voiced out as Zane shut the door behind us.

Tyler paced up and down the room, muttering cuss words after the other while Zane just stayed mute.

"Oh, you had better start talking! I wanna know when and where this whole thing started,"

"Because the last time I checked, Asher bullied you several times and even had flings with other girls. How on earth did a three day vacation turn into you loosely opening your legs?" He demanded, rage searing in his eyes.

"Tyler, it's not like that!" I stepped forward, but the irritation in his eyes made me stop short.

"Then explain it to me, Hazel. Make it make sense."

"Because right now, all I see is someone who let Asher—Asher of all people—claim her, and I know damn well you're smarter than this."

I swallowed hard, my heart racing. I wondered if Zane would back me up or support Tyler.

"We just needed time to get to know each other better, alright?"

"I know Asher isn't perfect, I know that, but things have changed. He's changed."

Tyler let out a bitter laugh. "Changed? Please, Hazel. You think marking you means he's suddenly a saint? Wait.."

"I totally get it now. He's now the alpha so we aren't important to you anymore, you want to elevate your status so bad that you'd jump on my brother's dick."

"That's not true!" I snapped, my own frustration rising. "You don't know what happened. You weren't there."

He stopped pacing, his eyes locking onto mine with a sharpness that made my stomach twist. "Then tell me. Tell me what happened, because all I see is someone who used to be sensible now acting like she's lost her damn mind."

"Was the dick that good you can't think straight anymore? Do you want me to fuck him out of your head? Tell me and I'll do it." He came closer.

I hesitated, unsure of how to explain everything that had shifted between Asher and me in those three days. The up and down moments, the vulnerability he'd shown, the mate bond. But would Tyler even listen? Could he understand?

Zane shifted against the wall, drawing both our attention. "Maybe you should listen to her before jumping to conclusions," he said, his voice calm but holding authority.

Tyler shot him a disappointing look of disbelief. "You're defending him now too? Is this some sort of joke? Did I miss the part where we all agreed Asher gets to take whatever he wants and we just have to roll with it?"

Zane sighed and pushed off the wall, stepping closer to us. "I'm not saying I agree with Asher's choices, but you're not exactly being fair either. Hazel has a right to her own decisions."

Tyler's jaw clenched, and for a second, I thought he might lash out at Zane, but instead, he turned back to me, eyes narrowing. "Fine. You want me to listen? I'm all ears."

I took a deep breath, steadying myself. "I'm not going to stand here and pretend Asher is perfect or that he hasn't hurt me in the past. But things did change, Tyler. He opened up to me in a way I didn't expect, and—"

"You believe him?" Tyler cut in, his voice drawing with disbelief. "This is Asher we're talking about. The same guy whose relationships barely last a week. If he was ever going to settle, he wouldn't do it with you."

"Asher thinks of power like my father, what do you have to offer that he would change his mind? He's obviously running away from something and he's using you as his coverage."

"But your weak omega heart believes that he's in love with you. Wake up, Hazel."

"None of you knows what love is. You're infatuated with the idea of being with him and he sees you as his favourite doll to play with."

"Give it a month and he would fall back to the heartless monster you knew him to be." He added in a brief moment.

"It's not about love," I snapped back. "He's my mate and I can't be with anybody else. He didn't reject me so why would I put myself through the pain?"

"The goddess gave it to him for a reason and that I can't question."

"Maybe I don't want to understand." Tyler's voice was icy, marking more hurt than anger. "Maybe I just thought you were better than falling for some bullshit bond excuse."

"You don't get to judge me for this," I countered. "You don't know what it's like."

"You're no different from him because you're a playboy as well. Why are you getting so worked up? Would you prefer that I be with you? Or probably, Zane?"

"Maybe because I honestly thought you and Zane had something going on but I guess, my brother was such a weakling to fight for what belongs to him,"

"But I'm not Zane and I won't let Asher take you away from me so soon." He declared, tugging my hand closer to slam against his chest.

"Tyler, you've to accept that I belong to someone else now."

"After everything? Just like that? After all the times I've been there for you, and he's only ever used you?"

I opened my mouth to protest, to say something, but Zane cut in, stepping between us. "That's enough, Tyler."

Tyler's furious eyes darted to Zane and my heart sank, thinking that they would break into a fight but Zane didn't look like he was ready to raise a finger.

"This isn't the way to handle it," Zane mentioned. "You're angry, I get it. But taking it out on Hazel won't change anything."

Tyler's chest rose as he sucked in heavy breaths. "You don't get it. You don't understand what it feels like to watch someone you—" He cut himself off, his voice catching as he swallowed back the rest of his words.

To watch someone you what? Love?

Could it be possible? Had Tyler been holding back feelings for me all this time?

Zane stayed silent for a moment before speaking again, his voice softer even now. "I get it, brother but it's Hazel's choice."

"Fuck her choice! She's just a little girl who's obsessed with a toxic guy!"

"Well, you're being toxic right now by trying to manipulate her choices. She doesn't want you, let it go and find a new girl." Zane suggested.

"No way! You and Asher messed up but I never did, why is it so hard for girls to pick the good guys?" That question was directed to me as both eyes fell on me.

I swallowed, feeling guilty over my decision. "Tyler, you were more of a brother and friend to me."

His eyes sprung up in disbelief, "Brother? But you let me get in between your legs several times."

"IT WAS JUST ONE TIME!" I fired back.

Why did Zane have to be in the same room with us?

As I had assumed, Zane pulled back from both of us in shock of what he just heard.

"Wait..."

"That night I came to this room, the bed was soaked with your cum, was it Tyler you did it with?" He asked, quickly connecting the dots.

Oh, Goddess, this issue is about to go down the rabbit hole and I wasn't ready for it.
