~Hazel~
Everyone had secrets but not everyone had one as dark as the depths of the ocean. If I ever had my suspicion, it would be Asher but this time, he proved me wrong.
He made me see that I had been blind this whole time. I had wasted away my love worrying over a man who was eventually going to turn me back to a maid for his mates.
"Were you going to take me away and make me the nanny for your children?" I asked him, my eyes surely gleaming with tears.
His lips spread apart but the words were silent. "Answer me, Tyler."
"He never has anything to say during cases like this, my queen but yes, that was his plan." Asher butted once again into our affairs.
I felt the need to yank my hair and crash out as it didn't make any sense. Would everyone forever view me as a slave?
"I could kill you both right here and now but if I were to spare you for betraying me, you'd be his slave queen."
Tyler and the girls flinched at his words but I was too much in a state of shock to even blink.
Yes, Asher was known as the king of lies and envy but Tyler was just something far worse.
He still wouldn't deny it or at least, fight me like he used to.
Has he grown suddenly weak because of this?
"Tyler, you have got to say something to me. You can't just stay silent and let Asher keep talking." I held his hand but he shoved me away.
"It was a game that only got out of hand." He finally responded, his eyes fixed on Asher.
With no remorse evident on his face, I couldn't bury the hysterical laughter that crawled out of my throat.
"So that's the end, huh? You almost made me run away on my wedding day and then let me fool myself around when you are clearly occupied by..."
My eyes trailed off his body and roved to the girl who had cheeky smiles on their faces. I couldn't hide the scowl any longer but my large wings were so cut off by the suppressing feeling of shame.
I knew Asher would pay me back a dozen times before finally letting this go and I wasn't sure if I was ready to deal with it."I'm sorry, alright? I just wanted to get back at Asher and taking the only thing he had since I couldn't get the throne was the best option I had." Tyler explained with a tinge of his bitterness in his voice.
Everytime he opened his mouth to speak, it just kept getting worse and worse and I wondered if he was the same guy I was with a moment ago.
"Come on, brother," Asher scoffed, walking around him. "Is that what you call an apology? You disgraced her before her husband, servants and your mates. Surely, you can do better than that."
But that was the best shot he had.
"Besides, why would you hate me over a throne I don't even want? You think I enjoy being alpha? If I wasn't one, I would have more time to spend with my wife."
"Then she wouldn't have wandered off into the hands of my enemies." He gave me a vicious side eye that formed a lump in my throat.
They were not going to pile up the blame on me, not today or ever.
"I wandered off or you scared me away? Have you suddenly forgotten how you once treated me? It's not like a year again, Asher." I spoke up.
They all turned to stare at me like they didn't expect someone like me to have a firm voice against Asher.
"I know you used me for whatever reason you chose to keep to yourself but you are not the only one." I faked a smile so he would feel as much pain as I did.
"I am queen now and you wouldn't want to punish the woman carrying your heir, would you?" My smirk widened as I caressed my stomach.
Tyler and Asher's eyes simultaneously widened in disbelief and anticipation.
Tyler was the first to take a bold step towards me but I warned him not to, "Take one more step and I'll forget what we had."
"Why didn't you tell me that you are pregnant? Do you know who the father is? I'm sure, it's me." He hastily said.
"Father? You? The goddess forbids that." I spat out.
"For someone who already has two kids or even more on the way, you seem more concerned about mine." I sarcastically stated.
I hadn't taken a test yet but I could use it to buy time for now.
The hardness in Asher's eyes had faded off and I could tell that he was dying from excitement deep down.
He had already lied to his father about this so why not continue?
"I had sex with you more times than Asher." Tyler shamelessly pointed out.
The room went awkwardly silent again and my faux confidence whiffed into the air in a second before slowly returning when I saw the cruelty seeping into Asher's eyes.
"No, we didn't."
"It was just twice and I have lost count with my husband." I deadpanned.
"Twice is enough to give you a baby and Asher could be impotent." That statement got him a black eye in the blink of an eye.
Asher held him up to the wall, fuming with rage. "Insult me again and I will make your unborn children bastards."
"If I didn't find out already that I have a child with Hazel, I would have gladly accepted your favour." He weakly replied and again, a punch loaded on his face.
"Arrrghhh!" He groaned.
"How about we do a DNA test for the child?"
This sore loser wouldn't just let go of the grip.
"It's not yours, Tyler, so forget it!" I shouted.
But that only fueled Asher's curiosity as he let go of his brother and came over to me.
"We will do the test, Hazel and may goddess make you immortal from my wrath if I find out that baby isn't mine." He whispered dangerously.Let's start from whether or not I am even pregnant...
"You want to be my queen, huh? Fine but I don't tolerate runaway princesses." And with that he cuffed his wrist and did the same to one of mine.
