~Hazel~

I waited for a long time till everyone was too busy or tired to care or notice my movements. Asher had traveled for a business trip and Asher was too preoccupied with keeping Trisha away from trouble so it was the perfect time for me to go in search of him.

I had casually toured the pack house till I noticed a secret gate that was locked with several chains.

I couldn't guess what they were hiding but it just kept calling out to me so I took the risk and stole the pair of keys from the guards when they weren't looking.

"What if there's a dangerous creature hidden there?" My wolf asked with a tinge of fear in her voice.

"Then we would either face or run out." Besides, what could be more dangerous than a marriage with Asher Logan.

I was quick to unlock the padlocks and silently crawled into the dark room. There were cobwebs all over the place and kept myself on guard incase of any attack.

From a corner, I heard a growl and my heart split into two with fear but I continued walking.

I followed the sound till I met Tyler in his wolf form, his fur with several cuts and his fangs in the open.

"Ty..Tyler." I called his name softly.

My heart nearly leaping with joy over the realization that he was still alive but then I noticed something.

His gold orbs kept looking towards the window where the full moon slowly came into view and I started to rethink if I was being foolish or smart.

"Are you okay?" I asked like he could answer me.

My eyes darted to the window again and the crystal clear bright moon was finally out and before I could catch onto what was happening, Tyler broke free of his chains and bolted towards me.

I dashed towards the door but found it already locked from outside. There were no thoughts of survival running to my head at that moment and was so close to death.

"Help me out here!" I cried to my wolf and we immediately shifted for her to control.

It was a slim chance of surviving but I had more points fighting Tyler in my wolf form than in my human form.

I howled as he came onto me with full force, knocking me to the ground. We tried getting back up but his paw firmly held me down.

"Tyler, it's me. Your Hazel." I uttered through the mind link and I saw his eyes soften.

He backed away and transformed to his human self, urging me to do the same.

By this time already, I was panting hard and heavy while watching him naked and his eyes were fixed on me too.

"What happened to you?" I just had to ask.

"What do you think? My brother tried to kill me and when I didn't die, he shot me with wolfsbane till I found myself here." He answered weakly.

For a moment I thought he had forgotten me.

"You were about to kill me a minute ago." I pointed out, still uncomfortable with the proximity between us.

Tyler let out a tired sigh, fixing his head low. "I wasn't trying to kill you, Hazel. It's the wolfsbane—it messes with my senses, makes it hard to distinguish friend from foe." He paused, his voice getting even lower. "But you shouldn't have come here. It's dangerous."

I stepped closer despite the warning in his tone. "I couldn't just sit around, wondering if you were dead or alive. No one would tell me anything. You deserved better than to be left down here like some enslaved animal. Even rogues don't get treated like this."
