Chapter Nine

Elle POV

Today was my album release party. I had invited all the grid. I decided to keep up with the theme and wear red for it.

"Red suits you," Arthur compliments me.

"Thank you," he smiles, hugging me.

"I'm proud of you, Elle,"

"I'm proud of you too,"

"I already know that this album is going to be a banger," I laugh my phone starts to ring I look at it frowning.

"What's up?"

"It's Ben,"

"As in Ryan's best friend Ben?" I nod he motions for me to answer the phone, which I do putting it on speaker.

"Ben, hi," I say.

"Hey, Elle, long time no speak,"

"Yeah, it's been a while,"

"I'm in Nice at the moment. I just received an invite for your album release," he says. I didn't even know he was invited. "I was wondering if it was alright . It came. I don't want to make it awkward,"

"I'd love it if you came," I say I wasn't lying. Ben and I were close friends. We just drifted when me and I split.

"I'll see you soon then,"

"See you soon,"

"Do you think it's going to be awkward?" I shake my head

"I doubt it if it is. I'll run straight to you,"

"I've got your back now come on. I know we are supposed to be fashionably late, but we are cutting it close," I nod.

I greet the drivers, looking around. I hadn't seen Charles just yet.

"He's coming, don't worry," I look up to see Max. "He was picking Pierre and Kika up he didn't want to be late, but I said you'd understand,"

"Thank you,"

"This album for him?"

"It is," I smile. "I've written countless songs about him that I've already put out there, but this time he'll know about these,"

"I think he'll love it. I saw the album cover and playlist it looks really good,"

"Thank you," he nods, hugging me, then walks over to Daniel.

"If it isn't Elle Beaumont," I smile, turning around.

"If it isn't Benjamin Wadsworth," he holds his arms open, and I walk over, hugging him.

"I've missed you,' he says into my hair

"I've missed you too," he pulls away.

"I also have to tell you beforehand," i nod. "Ryan's here,"

"He is?" He nods.

"I told him to get in touch with you, but he said that Cara had called him, so it should be fine,"

"I haven't seen or spoke to him since the breakup,"

"I know, and you're in a relationship now, right?"

"I am,"

"With who exactly?" I go to speak, but stop when Ryan comes into view.

"Hey, Elle," he says, smiling at me.

"Ryan," I smile back he hugs me, and I return it.

"Looks like you're doing well for yourself,"

"I'm trying," I laugh.
