It's currently 2:30am and Y/n hasn't had a bit of sleep. She can't stop think about the events that occurred this night. How fast everything went. What would've happened if she never snuck out? She wouldn't be here in this Hospital if it wasn't for her decisions. She would've been at home, sleeping peacefully with Lucas. Lucas wouldn't be in Jail or being questioned right now. They both would've been okay and together.
Y/n hears a knock on her door and then sees someone open it through her peripheral vision. She doesn't care to see who it is. Knowing it might be her doctors or the nurse coming to check her vitals.
Instead it's not either of them. Who is it?
"Sorry for coming to visit you this late. Were you sleeping?" Someone says. Y/n knows that deep voice. But there's no way. What's he doing here? She turns her head to make sure it's really him, and it is. Out of everyone else, why did Levi come?
"Oh.. um no, it's okay. I'm not that tired." Y/n says trying to readjust herself but failing as her whole body hurts and she can barely move.
"Hey, it's alright. I just came here to check up on you. Your friends told me you'd be here. Are you feeling alright?" Levi asks. Trying to not seem too worried about her, but he can't stop himself.
"Yeah. My whole body hurts but other than that I'm okay. The nurses said I should be out of here in a couple days." She responds. She can't look at Levi in the eye like he is trying to do with her. She looks a mess and she doesn't want him to see her like this. Not after trying to flirt with him and causing a mess at his tea shop.
"Alright-" Levi is interrupted by Y/n.
"I'm sorry about what happened. If I had known he was gonna be there, I wouldn't have gone out in the first place. That was dumb of-" Y/n tries explaining as Levi then cuts her off.
"Don't worry about that. The police are taking care of everything. You shouldn't even be worried about that when you're the one in the hospital." Levi says. Was that rude of him? He should say sorry perhaps?
"I just meant that-"
"Yeah I know what you mean. It's okay. I just hoped I was gonna be able to be out with my friends and have a good time but... things happen." Y/n says. She shouldn't be venting to him? She doesn't even know him. He probably doesn't even care.
"No. That shouldn't happen." Levi tries to stop himself from asking but he has to.
"I know it's none of my business but... why do you do it?" He then asks.
"Huh? Do what?" Y/n says.
"Why do you let yourself be treated like that by him? Why are you running away from him for a while and smoking instead of just leaving him whole?" Levi is honestly confused and he needs to know. Except it's none of his business once again so he stops himself.
"My bad. Nevermi-"
"It's okay. We're gonna be living together for a while so you might as well get to know me" Y/n says. She's embarrassed to be venting to Levi right now, but if he wanted to know and she needed someone to talk to, then might as well.
"Lucas wasn't always an abuser. At the beginning he was a really sweet and active man. I don't know when it was that he began becoming cold but ever since he told me about his father's death, something felt off. And of course I wasn't thinking too much about it because obviously he lost someone special to him. But he never got over it. It's like it was his only excuse to everything he did."
