As we stepped out into the cool evening air, a comfortable quietness lingered between us. The night was calm, and the soft glow of  fairy lights  illuminated our path to the car. The faint sound of the lake, filled the air, creating a relaxing ambiance.

Unlocking the car, I opened the door for her, and she graciously slid into the passenger seat. I closed the door behind her, walked around and settled into the driver's seat. We both wore our seatbelts after the engine purred to life. We started our drive back to her place.

The drive was accompanied by a playlist of our favorite tunes, creating the perfect soundtrack for the night. I couldn't help but steal glances at her, captivated by her beauty.

We talked and laughed, sharing funny stories of our childhood, and recounting some of the memorable memories from the evening. The warmth of our connection filled the air, making the drive feel shorter than it was.

Finally we arrived at her place, I parked my car, and we sat for a moment, enjoying our time together before saying our goodbyes.

"I had a fantastic time together. Thank you for making it special." I said turning towards her

"I did too.", she tucked her hair and added, "It was a perfect evening." As she leaned over, I could feel the softness of her lips on my cheek as she planted a sweet goodnight kiss.

With a lingering smile, she got out the car. We exchanged a final wave, before watching her towards her doorstep. As she entered her home, I drove away, the night still holding the echoes of our laughter and the warmth of our shared moments.

The  phone alarm blared it's annoying tune, waking me up from the comfort of my bed. I fumbled for my phone, silencing the alarm, groaning. Mornings were never my cup of tea, and getting ready for school, well you could say that I enjoy school?

Dragging myself out of my bed, I walked to the bathroom, rubbing the droopiness from my eyes. The mirror reflected a less hotter version of myself, messy hair, sleepy eyes. I washed my face and brushed my teeth before taking a quick hot shower.

After the shower and putting on some axe deodorant, I headed to the closet, eyeing the wonderful choices of clothing items I possess. After a few moments of being indecisive, I settled on a pair of black slacks and a white buttoned t-shirt, the typical bad boy high school uniform that girls fawn on.

After wearing my clothes, I checked my phone to see that it was already time for me to head out. I grabbed my backpack of school things, wallet and my phone,  the scent of brewed coffee wafted throughout the air, I made a quick pitstop and saw my caretaker Julie washing the dishes.

I greeted her before filling my coffee bottle with brewed coffee, I said bye to her before grabbing my car keys on the table near the door. I looked myself at the mirror and walked out the door.

The drive to school was peaceful, but walking into the crowded school main wing made me want to walk out of those two doors I came in from. I headed straight for the north wing until I saw her presence amongst the few groups of students. Amelia, time slowed down for a moment, and my gaze involuntarily lingered on her.

She was standing there, a burst of color filled the dull hallway. Her laughter, chiming like a melody reached my ears. She was busy talking to a guy who was seemingly interested in her. Her expressive gestures made me realize she was interested in him too.

I couldn't help but appreciate how beautiful she was in the glowing sunlight, her energy drew people in. I noticed that our eyes locked briefly for a moment, I felt a unknowing feeling in my stomach, could it be butterflies? A small smile played on her lips, and I managed to smile back before walking to our classroom.

As I continued, I noticed myself thinking about her, it's not like she and I are into each other but there was something there, I just can't figure it out.

My footsteps continued down the hall, as I made it to my first class. Business ethics was my least favorite subject but a needed one since I need credits for university. I saw my classmates going inside the classroom, they were engaging in small talk while sitting in their respective seats. I looked around and saw an empty seat beside Marga, a classmate known for her detailed notes and thoughtful insights.

We exchanged a nod of acknowledgment, before I sat beside her. I placed my backpack beside me and removed a pen and notebook, placing them in front of me. Dr. Johnson, a renowned business ethics specialist was already writing his name on the blackboard. I knew this was a gonna be an interesting class.

After an hour of self-introductions and the start of a topic called CSR and ethical decision-making. I quite enjoyed her class especially since she made it easy asking questions and sharing insights. I walked out the door, said bye to Marga and the others before going to my second class where an unexpected twist awaits me.

I walked to the classroom nearest to the south wing auditorium, as I approached the door, I saw a familiar face sitting in the second row. Sabrina waved at me pointing to the seat she reserved for me in the middle third row. As I walked into the room, I scanned to see who was in the classroom, and that's when I noticed that Amelia was sitting on the second row with her friend.

The realization hit me when I realized that Sabrina and Amelia were in the same class as me. I wonder if this is the only class I have with both of them. Sabrina smiled at me when I walked towards her while Amelia caught my eye, giving me a friendly nod and going back to the writing on her notebook. The air between us thickened because of the unspoken tension we are potentially having.

I sat beside Sabrina smiling at her before I settled down and looked at Amelia who's face lit up when a guy walked towards them. A guy kissed her cheek and sat beside her, I felt a slight bit of jealousy but at the same time I had Sabrina.

The class began and as much as I wanted to focus on the class, I was focusing on how it was gonna be a rocky semester. After the bell rang, Sabrina and I walked hand and hand, as I passed Amelia, she looked at our hands and looked back at the guy who wrapped his arm around her smiling.

We walked out of the classroom and headed towards the courtyard since we finally have our lunch break. As much as I want this day to end, I wanna see how things would unravel.
