1. One day, Ash met one of Karlyle's former (many) Omega partners on the road and he got shocked, jealous, confused and distressed.

The cause of his distress was Rubert (the Omega with Karlyle at the end of the first chapter). Rubert was no stranger to Karlyle, and he was the one that "gave" Karlyle the chance to meet Ash (again).

London was a small city, and they bumped into each other at a cafe. Rubert recognized Karlyle first and went to greet him.

"Karlyle, long time no see!"

Rubert was not just someone, he used to be Karlyle's rut partner appointed by his grandfather. Rubert was a mixed-race aristocrat. He was an accountant, very popular in his field. He came to this cafe for lunch with his colleagues and happened to see Karlyle and Ash.

Karlyle was a little slow on the jealousy part. Coming across Rubert after a long time, he greeted him back.

"How have you been?"

They met on the way out after ordering. Ash was next to Karlyle, but he didn't know who Rubert was. Ash was still smiling, but he was upset because Rubert was an Omega. Karlyle was about to introduce Ash to Rubert when Rubert, who had such a happy face, asked.

"So, how is your health, Karlyle?"

"I'm fine now."

Karlyle said. They were once sex partners and there was no big exchange between them, so Karlyle was going to wrap up the conversation. But Rubert said it was nice to meet him, and that he would text him later on his work phone to invite him to a party this weekend. He seemed to know Karlyle very well.

Standing next to him, Ash smiled and said.

"Hello, are you Lyle's friend? It's our first time meeting each other, right? I'm Ash Jones. You two seem to know each other well."

At his friendly greeting, Rubert also smiled and introduced himself. Actually, the story of Ash and Karlyle was very famous in the noble world. Since Rubert knew about them both, it was awkward for him to introduce himself.

"I'm Rubert. I met Karlyle a few times on business. If you don't mind, Karlyle will tell you the details. I want to talk more, but it's almost work time. See you later!"

Rubert quickly finished and left. The atmosphere was so awkward, Ash instantly noticed it. Coming out of the cafe with a cup of coffee, Ash casually put his hand on Karlyle's waist and kissed his neck to cover up the scent of Rubert. Karlyle let out a small laugh and left Ash alone. He looked at Ash with adoring eyes. Ash then asked Karlyle in a sulky way.

"You must be close with each other."

Karlyle shook his head. He knew why Rubert said that as he didn't want to say the truth outright…

"We are not that close. I met him a few times before I met you."

"You met him periodically?"

"Not really."

"He asked you about your health. Is your body not well, darling?"

So Ash did catch that. "Mm", Karlyle hesitated. His lover was very smart, of course he wouldn't miss it. While Karlyle was thinking of what to do, Ash, unaware of the relationship between the two, said gently.
