The Mystery Of Eastwick Manor

Chapter Four - The Discovery

Considering Amelie had an eventful morning. After her lessons with Mrs Allen she decides to uncover the secrets of the mysterious letter she found in the library. The letter told her it was her choice to make to uncover what was behind the door. And Amelie knew she wanted to pursue this adventure. She makes sure no once is around then starts her journey to the west side of Eastwick Manor to find a room with a painting of Sir Eastwick who is an ancestor to the Westland Family. This room would then have the mysterious door.

Amelie wanders through the large estate. She notices more of the strange paintings on the wall as she becomes closer to the west side. She suddenly hears footsteps and someone calling her name. She turns around and notices a figure lurking around.

"Amelie, what are you doing there." The figure called down the hallway. It charges closer to Amelie giving her more of a fright. As the figure becomes closer to her she notices it's Esmeralda.

"I'm sorry Great Aunt Esmeralda I was exploring more of the house. Was I not supposed to go this way?" Amelie apologised and asked.

"Sorry I  did not make it clear. But the west side is out of bounds for a reason. Please refrain from going this way please Amelie." Esmeralda told Amelie  with another of her cold glares. Amelie becomes a bit frightened and heads the other way back towards her room. She thought she would never be able to uncover the mystery door in the west side.

Amelie knew she wouldn't give up. She went back to her room and waited for a while to make sure she had the right timing to go to the west side without being caught. She then leaves her room and sneaks downstairs to wear the main sitting rooms were. She saw Esmeralda there alongside Mrs Allen discussing her work. Her temporary assistant Lucy was also downstairs cleaning. So Amelie knew that now would be her great escape to the west side. She ran down the hallway as she thought a quicker response would be better than lurking around.

She manages to get further than she did earlier when Esmeralda caught her. She then goes through all the rooms so see if she can find where she was looking for. She takes the mysterious letter out from her sleeve and reads it again carefully.

"I won't tell you what's through this door. That is your decision to make." Amelie recited from the letter in her hands. She knew that it was her decision whether or not to find what's through the door. But Amelie wanted a sense of adventure and mystery. She wanted something exciting to do whilst being stuck in the middle of nowhere in Eastwick Manor. She begins to venture further down the hallway observing all the rooms coming off either side.

She suddenly makes it to the end of the west side. Noticing the room that is described in the letter. "An old sitting room with a painting of Sir Eastwick." Amelie again recited from the letter. She knew she had found the right place.
"There's all the dust sheets just like what the letter said." Amelie said to herself. She was excited that she had found the right room. But she wanted to make sure she was going to be safe.

Amelie walked over to a dust sheet and pulled it off. Underneath it revealed a door, just like what it  said in the letter.
"I will not tell you what's behind this door. That is your decision to make." Amelie said to herself again reciting the exact words from the letter.

She felt a little nervous, her hand began to tremble has she put her hand out to attempt to open the door. Her hand is shaking more violently as she gets nearer to the door handle. Her heart began to race, she was breaking out into some sort of sweat and was hyperventilating. She knew that the opening of this door would change her life forever.

Amelie broke through her anxiety, and then opened the door...

There was a glow, she couldn't see past it. So she stepped inside to see what was going on.
