New Opening Act

Taylor's Pov:

Ed had been in the Hospital now for about a week. The Drs said he was improving in his Recovery and could be discharged as soon as Monday. The Dr had ordered him to take some time off from Touring and Postpone the rest of the Tour and to focus on his Health.

That had made Ed wince he hated more than anything to disappoint the Fans who have travelled and spent a lot of Money to see him perform live. I told him that I would help him come up with something to say to his Fans online and he sent to his multiple Social Media pages.

The Fans were disappointed but as they pointed out his Health was more important and thst they could always attend another Show some other time. They were just relieved that he would be alright.

Shawn Mendes took over as my Opening Act for the rest of the Red Tour. He was great at warming up the crowd for me and they loved hearing him and his Guitar onstage. Shawn had mentioned to the Audience that he's Best Friends with Ed and talks to him on a regular basis. He reassured Fans that Ed is going to be alright.

I had been taking Ed's absence hard and sobbing when I was Backstage. How was I going to be finishing the Tour without him? I even had to sing our Song without him. Just then I felt a hand tap my shoulder and it was Shawn he saw that I had been crying.

"Taylor,it'll be alright Ed is going to make it and come back stronger. In the meantime he had texted me earlier and says that he wants me to sing "Everything Has Changed". with you until he can go back on the road he said he will make things up with you when he comes back and you both can record it together and keep doing it live".

I nodded I very much wanted Shawn to help me sing this song every Night while we are on Tour. "That would be awesome Shawn Ed would really want that just offering to sing that with me will be a big treat for those Fans out there and after that you can sing your two big hits "There's Nothing Holding Me Back" out there and I can join in.

The next show Night went smoothly. Though I'm not going to lie there were times I wanted to break down and cry and felt like I couldn't sing the song without him. But Shawn was there reminding me that Ed would want us to continue it and for me to continue it to.

During our Acoustic Set during mid show of Red, we both did "Everything Has Changed". which the Fans absolutely loved. I was very impressed by how talented Shawn Mendes is at just only 15 he could play just about any song on the Guitar and he had a Voice that just made the Girls in the Audience go wild. He was like a younger John Mayer and I meant that as a compliment not an insult.

After we finished the first song the Crowd went wild everyone cheered us on and especially Shawn. "Would you like to hear more from my Friend Shawn Mendes?!" I asked the Crowd making them go crazier. They all cheered even more showing they wanted more. "Your in for a treat, Shawn is going to open up for me for the rest of Red Tour!"

The Croud cheered even louder. Shawn started singing "There's Nothing Holding Me Back" and I joined in singing the other parts. We had so much fun performing together that Shawn had me distracted during the performance and I started having fun again.

After the Show was over, and me and the Band finished our Set, I went around to go and find Shawn "Hey! If you want a bunch of us my Team, Band and me are going to a Restaurant and your more than welcome to join us!" I had found him in the Dressing room packing his things up in his Duffel Bag.

"Um, sure long as the Place doesn't sell Alcohol I am only 15". he says looking uncomfortable as he says it.

Taylor smiled at him remembering being his age once. "You don't have to drink. We can all go to Sonic Drive In or Taco Bell and have something there and get to know each other".

"Awesome! Sounds good to me as I'm already starving!" He followed her and the rest of the Band and Crew to a couple Dark Suvs.
