2:20 p.m.

"So she gone from last week?" I ask Aunty Marsha.

She nods.

Watch me and har when she come back...

Bout she gone a foreign and nuh mek mi know.

"She did tell me fi tell yuh inno, but me and yuh know seh me brain nuh good" is her response, and I watch as she walks into her kitchen.

We were on a FaceTime call.

"Yuh mother good?" she asks, breaking the silence.

I nod briefly.

She's just a little upset about the situation with Ashawn.

So she told me to invite him over for dinner.

Which at first I did not want to do, but she insisted.

So now we're waiting on him to get here so we can all have dinner together and talk.

Deevn know wah we ago talk bout, but the lady say she wah talk to him so mi nuh bada say nothing.

"She say she's great now that the divorce finalize" I tell her.

My dad was having an affair with his secretary and my mom found out.

She was devastated, because my dad was the love of her life.

And she trusted him, but sadly he didn't care about that.

Ever since then, he's been trying to reach out to me but I don't care to talk to him.

Plus Kyra had blocked him from my phone and I don't plan on unblocking him anytime soon.

"Mi glad fi dat, I am" she smiles, sitting down on a stool around the island.

My mom is finally single and free.

And she's looks good for her age, so I'm sure she'll find someone that loves her for her someday.

"Wah know sumn?" I hear her say and my eyes widen.

I chuckle.
