The alarm clock woke her up from a very lovely dream, preferably, a nightmare.
Purple eyes blurry with tears, Shinobu wasn't sure if it was a sign. She just saw the love of her life bleeding profusely right in front of her. She can't even do anything because she can't fucking move.
All she wanted was to save you, wrap you in bandages to make the bleeding stop. Yet her body cannot seem to move. A med student studying to be a doctor and can't even save someone she loves. Ironic.
She hurriedly looked to her side and spotted you lying beside her, snoring lightly. In downright panic, she shook you.
"Y/n? Y/n! W-Wake up!" Shinobu cried, voice threatening to crack.
"Mm?" You sat up, rubbing your eyes. When you opened your eyes, you saw her body shaking, gazing at her worriedly "'Nobu? What's wrong-"
She tackled you in a hug, breathing out, "Oh thank god, you're alright..."
"I'm right here, butterfly."
The both of you stayed in that position for a while. You stroked her hair gently and continued whispering sweet nothings in her ear. She lay in your chest, finding the sound of your steady heartbeat comforting.
"I r-really thought you were gone! I saw you! Y-you were bleeding furiously, a-and I can't even fucking take a single step, and-!" Shinobu paused, trying to keep in a stifled sob. "I thought you were gone..."
You hated seeing her like this. You pouted, "Shh, butterfly, don't cry!" your fingers interlocked with hers, "Those nightmares are just an illusion. I'm really here. Right in front of you." You pressed reassuring kisses all over her face. One in the forehead, temple, nose, eyelids, cheeks, and lastly in the lips.
Arms hugged her waist tightly, You let her nuzzle at the crook of your neck.
"I hate to see you hurt like this." You told her monotonously, stroking her hair softly, "Just close your eyes. I will still be here when you open them again."
Shinobu did what you said. After some time, you felt her body no longer shaking, her breathing steady. She opened her eyes and looked at you. You were still, in fact, there.
"I love you, so so much." You grinned, once again pressing your lips on her forehead.
"I love you too."
A beat of silence before Shinobu abruptly looked at you again, "Wait a minute, We're late!"
The grin on your face was replaced by a small frown, then an idea came up. Before she could get out of bed, with a shit-eating grin, you wrapped your arms around her waist and, received a squeak from her.
"Y/n?!" She trashed around your hold, in which you didn't budge. "This is bad! Muzan-sensei is going to kill us!!"
"Psh! That old man can suspend me or something whatever he wants! I'm not letting him get close to you!" You announced, determinedly. Both of you knew you couldn't handle a scolding from Muzan.
Shinobu's face turned red as a tomato, before shaking away her thoughts. She stopped thrashing around and turned to you, "Bu-"
"No buts." You say with a lazy smirk, "How about we just stay here and cuddle? How about that?"
With hesitance, she sighed and laid against your chest, snuggling in it. "Fine."
"Yay!"
