Soulmates are a funny thing. Words on your skin that match another. Aife was no different. The words written on her wrist are 'Two Demons' in Arabic.
(I have added this story to Ao3 so if you see it there, that's why)

Damian left his family as Chloe started talking about Aife's past. He already knew everything. He left to find his beloved to check in on her. He went to her room first finding it empty. Plagg came out of his hidden area and flew to Damian. "You looking for kitten kid?" He asked. "Yes, do you know where she is?" He asked. "She came in not long ago. Had a book, then went to your room," Plagged informed Damian. He nodded and then left.
Damian walked to his door. He walked into his room. Aife was sitting on his bed fiddling with the hood of Damian's jumper she had on. Damian just came over to her and hugged her from behind. Aife leaned back on him. Then she turned around and laid her head against his chest. "How are you doing?" He asked. She groaned into his chest. Damian let out a low chuckle. "What book did you get?" He asked. She half-heartedly reached for the book on his bedside table. Damian chuckled again. He grabbed it and started reading it from the chapter she was on.
Downstairs Chloe was answering the questions that were being asked. The more frantic questions were coming from Dick. She knew Dick was a policeman, one would think this would be someone who would ask less frantic questions. She thinks he was freaking out more than one would think because he had separated it from work.
Chloe was going slightly insane from all the questions, but she had sucked it up. 'Better me than Aife' she thought. She knew Aife would have been ethier aggressive, scared, silent, or worse running from it physically. However, there is only so much she could take as well. "OK! Everyone listen up! Aife's past is just that the past. Don't bring it up. Really don't bring it up. There are two things that will happen. One, she will be more comfortable with you. You know her past, and if you don't take it up with her unprompted. So like if you see her spiralling and you help her then you bring her out of it and she opens up to you, talk about it. If she doesn't, don't. Two, she will start joking about her trauma. Just go with it. Yes, she is in therapy, yes it is a coping mechanism. You have to just go with it. She gets it can sometimes make people uncomfortable and she won't do it as much around people who seem more uncomfortable," Chloe sighed once she was done. "I'm going to check on Aife then leave, I've got to help Mari with something," Chloe says leaving to go upstairs. She then walks out of the room. "Pollen can you find Plagg or Aife?" Chloe asks. "I can find Plagg, my queen," Pollen says flying away to Plagg.
Chloe walked into Aife's room. Plagg was sitting on her bed scrolling throw her computer and looking at cheese. He did not even look at who had opened the door. "Plagg where is Aife?" Chloe asked. "The room next door. Damian's room," He said still not looking over. Chloe then walked out. She opened Damian's door, sending a quick prayer that she did not stumble in on something she did not want to. She found Damian death glaring at her as Aife waved. She was lying on Damian's chest. Damian held a book in his hands. "You good kitty?" Chloe asked. "I'll be ok bee," She gives Chloe a soft smile. With a little sad undertones. Chloe gave her a sad smile back. "Ok, you call if you need anything, and I mean anything," She said as she closed the door again.
Lunch rolled around and everyone was on edge from the information bomb from the morning.
Aife and Damian came down for lunch. When they walked in all eyes were on them. Well, Aife. She stood slightly behind Damian. Everyone could see she was uncomfortable. Scared even. Jason decided to help her. "Hey Aife! After lunch do you want to go shooting? No one here is as good as you," He said. Damian was going to say no. He didn't want to leave her today. But Aife beat him to answer. "Sure!" She said happily. She moved from behind Damian to next to him. Damian said nothing. She was happy to have someone talking to her normally. Damian left it. He decided that no he was not going on patrol. He didn't care if he was supposed to.
As the two sat down Jason struck up another conversation with Aife. As Damian held Aife's hand under the table he said a small thank you to Jason internally. Those words would most likely never leave his mouth. The rest of the family was quiet. They gave Aife glances here and there as well as some to each other.
Then lunch was over. Jason quickly swiped up Aife and took her to the shooting range. Damian watched as they left. "If you have any leftover questions I'll answer them" He says after a sigh.
"So... everyone knows now huh?" Aife said as she reached for a gun. She knew Jason wanted to ask. "Yeah, they will probably be a little cautious so as not to upset you by accident," Jason responded. "I get why you didn't tell us. What I want to know is why demon spawn seems to know," Jason asks. "We ended up finding out about each of our pasts and ended up bonding over it," She explains. then she fires three shots at the target. "Eh, enough about me, what about you? Is anything going on? Hate someone, have a soulmate what," Aife asks. Turning to face Jason. He lets out a small laugh. "I hate a lot of people," He says shooting four times. "And for the soulmate thing, I can't seem to find them," He continues. "Oh, can I see your mark? If you are cool with it," She asks. "Just says 'Red wolf'," Jason explained. He went back to shooting as Aife tried to remember where she had heard that before. "Oh shit, that's Buckys mark," She said after some thinking.
All of Jason's thoughts to ask her what her mark was now gone.
