"Extend yourself to the tip of your blade," Master Akechi corrected Asakumo's grip, "Don't tense up. Remember, the samurai's great strength is their calm and respect. Clear your mind, and be at peace..."
"Asakumo?" a voice echoed in her head, "Asakumo!" the girl's head snapped back to the present.
"Sorry." Asakumo adjusted her earpiece and secured her mask, "Samurai Asakumo standing by and ready to receive." she replied with the standard response. Even if these were her partners and friends, Asakumo was trained to stick with the protocol.
"We got a tip-off that Chuuya Kato is keeping a file in one of the branching incorporations. The Yamato Inc. off of Tengu Street. You have 20 minutes to get there and get out with the file. Chuuya will be back there in about 15 minutes." Emi, Oni squad's best hacker briefed. "Godspeed and peace of mind, samurai."
"Deny neither good nor evil," Asakumo responded with Samurai's motto, "Samurai Asakumo signing off." Tightening her katana holster, Asakumo flipped her hood up and ran. Despite the five miles between her current position and Yamato Inc., Asakumo made it to the backdoor of the building in 10 seconds. Asakumo was faster than most, even the supernatural. For an average person to run five miles would have been about an hour. For a supernatural, around 30 seconds. For Asakumo Akechi, it took her ten seconds on a normal day and perhaps 5 seconds on a really good day.
"In position," Asakumo mumbled.
"Okay," Emi came back online, "sending over the building schematics. If you go through the back door, there should be a vent right near the first office door. Take that to the third floor. After that, you're all on your own."
"Thanks." making sure no one was watching, Asakumo slipped into the door and made for the vent. Before going into the vent, Asakumo tapped her ear and a screen appeared in front of her face. Hoisting herself into the vent, Asakumo made her way to the third floor.
Emi's voice came back, "Your doing good. It should be kept in office 57 on floor five." A couple of minutes later, Asakumo was picking the lock of office 57. The lock clicked and the door swung open. Looking left and right, Asakumo padded inside the room, heading immediately for the desk. Laying there was...
"No way." Asakumo breathed, gathering up the papers, "This is way too easy." Right at that moment, the office light clicked on.
"Put down the file. Now." a low voice warned. Turning to the voice, Asakumo caught sight of a hooded boy with a samurai mask. "You have no idea what that file contains."
"I bet you don't even know what it holds yourself, Ronin." Asakumo spat at the boy. The boy lowered his hood, revealing messy hair that seemed like it was specifically styled like that.
"I actually do, and what's inside may ruin the Samurai. Even us, the Ronin." The boy sighed, "But if you must, take it to Akechi." Asakumo laughed.
"I am Akechi. Akechi Asakumo at your service. Granddaughter of Master Akechi." Asakumo pulled down her own hood, her dark purple hair tumbling free. "And for your information, Ronin, the Samurai can hold out on their own." drawing her katana, Asakumo shattered the glass window with the hilt. "Good to meet you, Ronin. Send my regards to Mr. Chuuya" Bowing to the boy, Asakumo fell backward out of the window, off the building. Landing on a light post, Asakumo flipped off the pole and landed neatly on her feet.
"I have it," Asakumo reported, sheathing her katana. "Heading back to headquarters. Tell Master Akechi I want to talk to him."
"Copy that." Emi replied, "Five minutes, and Chuuya Kato will be there. Better clear out, just in case. Oni Hacker, out."
"Samauri Akechi, out."
