"I like you," the guy declared, dropping to one knee with a bouquet in hand. The surrounding students erupted into cheers. Uncomfortable under their scrutiny, Y/n scanned the onlookers: some wore smirks, others glared with envy, and a few exchanged mocking smiles.

"I'm sorry, but I don't feel the same," she replied, quickly retreating to her friends to capture graduation photos after a hectic year.

"Y/n, wait," Nick pleaded, rushing after her. "Please, give me a chance."

"Sorry, Nick, but my feelings haven't changed. And this public approach? It's making me really uncomfortable," Y/n rebuffed, moving toward her friends.

"Come on, Y/n, girls are crazy about Nick, and you turned him down," Carrie rolled her eyes.

"I don't get the hype. He's such a player. If I had said yes, he'd probably expect more tonight, and I'm not into that unless it's genuine," Y/n huffed.

"I understand, bestie," Noah chimed in, linking arms with her. "I wish he'd asked me instead," he sighed.

"Do you fancy him?" Carrie teased. "He's totally my type," Noah confessed, ogling Nick, who dropped the flowers into the bin, visibly deflated.

"He's everyone's type except Y/n's. So, what is your type, Y/n? Literally every handsome guy in our university has asked you out, and you've turned down everyone except..." Carrie stopped abruptly as Noah gripped her arm tightly, sensing Y/n's discomfort.

"I'm sorry," Carrie apologized, embracing Y/n tightly. Y/n pulled back, forcing a smile.

"Let's take some pictures, everyone!" Y/n announced, rallying her classmates.

After the ceremony, Y/n, Carrie, and Noah sat in a café, reminiscing about their college life.

"Remember when we pranked Miss. Scott?" Noah laughed.

"Oh, I'll never forget that," tears welled in Y/n's eyes as she laughed. "She was terrified of those roaches I kept in my purse," Carrie joined in.

"And the time Joshua caught Mr. Will in the act. His satisfaction was priceless," Y/n chuckled. "Especially when Miss. Phil and Miss Scott walked in. The look on his face," Carrie added between giggles.

After calming down, Noah suggested visiting Joshua and his parents.

"I was planning to visit them after this," Y/n smiled sadly, and they nodded in agreement.

Y/n bought flowers for them along the way, choosing purple gladiolus, Joshua's favorite. Noah drove while the girls sat quietly.

At Joshua's Grave

"Buddy, we did it," Noah said sadly. "Remember our promise from freshman year? To stand by each other even on graduation day. Here we are."

"I hope you're happy up there. I'm glad the pain's over, but... I miss you," Y/n's voice broke. Carrie squeezed her hand tightly.

"Coming to England was the best decision. You changed me for the better. Thank you, Joshua, for healing me, for tolerating my tantrums, for making me a better person. Keep watching over me from heaven. You'll always be my guardian angel," Y/n smiled through tears, placing gladiolus on Joshua's grave.

Later, they visited Joshua's family, sharing dinner. Over the past six years, they had grown close, becoming like family.

Evening

Noah and Carrie returned after buying snacks and drinks for their planned movie night and drinking session.

"Why did it take you both so long?" Y/n asked.

Carrie looked down, sinking onto the couch while Noah comforted her.

Y/n followed Noah into the kitchen. "What happened to her?" she asked, turning him to face her.

"Jack cheated on her again. We saw him kissing another girl in the garden. Carrie ended things this time, and now she's upset," he shook his head, while Y/n pouted at Carrie's sad face.

Approaching her, Y/n hugged Carrie tightly. "It's okay, sweetheart. Trust me, someone better is already waiting for you," Y/n comforted her as Carrie sobbed.

Y/n and Noah spent hours consoling Carrie until she finally began to feel better.

"Let's get drunk," Carrie suggested, wiping her tears as the others chuckled.

Later that Evening

The three of them were quite intoxicated by now.

"So, what's your plan now?" Y/n asked both of them.

"I'm heading back to LA. Dad needs my help with the business; it's been tough lately," Noah replied.

"I'll start job hunting. Let's see where life takes me," Carrie shrugged.

"And you?" Carrie asked Y/n.

"It's time to return to Korea and take over Elixir Essence. Mr. Park has managed it for seven years. It's my turn now," Y/n replied solemnly.

"Why do you look sad, Noah? Business was your dream," Y/n queried.

"Guys, is this it?" Noah's voice quivered. "Are we going to part ways now?"

"We won't, idiot! We'll stay connected forever. Let's achieve our career goals and reunite," Y/n assured tearfully.

The three hugged each other tightly.

"I don't want to go back," Y/n sobbed uncontrollably, deeply inebriated. Noah and Carrie, still sober due to their high alcohol tolerance, exchanged worried glances.

"Why, Y/n? What's wrong?" Carrie frowned. "Do you want to talk about it?" Noah asked, concerned.

"Will you both hate me?" Y/n asked tearfully.

"We could never hate you, Y/n," Carrie reassured, gently patting her back.

"Then I'll tell you," Y/n sat up straight, wiping her tears.
