While Jimin and Y/N were enjoying a tender moment in their room, a crashing sound from downstairs shattered the tranquility, followed by a series of loud thuds.

They frowned and descended the stairs, only to be confronted by a completely destroyed living room and an enraged Jaehwan. Y/N couldn't suppress a snort at his almost maniacal behavior, while his wife desperately tried to calm him down and his daughters huddled in a corner, panicked.

The commotion drew everyone else downstairs, including the Chairman, whose fury was palpable.

"GET A GRIP ON YOURSELF!" the Chairman roared.

"How can I, Father?" Jaehwan's eyes were bloodshot with anger. "How do you expect me to stay calm after you handed over my years of hard work to that cursed child?"

Jimin bristled, ready to confront him, but Y/N held him back. "Relax, just enjoy the show," she whispered, clinging to his arm.

"You practically left me on the streets to suffer! For what? If you were going to do this, you should have just killed me the day I was born," Jaehwan accused, his voice trembling with rage. The Chairman felt a pang of guilt in his heart.

"Maybe you should have thought about that before committing all those sins," the Chairman retorted coldly. Jaehwan collapsed to the floor, trembling with anger and looking murderous.

The Chairman ordered the butler to clean up the mess and turned to leave. "Grandpa," Anna called out, breaking her silence. He paused, waiting for her to speak.

"Do you really think Y/N is capable enough to handle Serene Group, if Jimin wasn't backing her?" she asked, looking down. Y/N flinched. She had never doubted her capabilities before. Did the Chairman choose her only because of Jimin? Wasn't she capable enough on her own?

"Yes, she is," the Chairman replied curtly and started to make his way upstairs. "N-No!! NO!! SHE IS NOT!! YOU KNOW IT TOO!" Anna screamed after him, her voice echoing through the house.

The Chairman paused on the staircase, his expression hardening as he turned back slightly. "Your doubt reveals more about your own insecurities than her capabilities, Anna," he said, his tone icy. "The decision stands. Y/N has proven herself time and again."

As the Chairman continued up the stairs, the tension in the room remained thick. Y/N's mind whirled with a mixture of resolve and doubt. She knew she had to prove herself, not just to everyone else, but to herself.

Jimin squeezed her hand reassuringly. "You are more than capable, Y/N. Don't let their doubts shake you," he whispered.

Meanwhile, Jaehwan's wife managed to coax him into a quieter state, though his eyes still blazed with unresolved fury.

"“With her mental state, she’ll drag the company down at the first sign of trouble. You know that. Did you forget what she did two years ago? How can you entrust her with such a significant responsibility when she’s not even mentally stable? She’s sick, don’t forget that,” Anna continued to rant, but the Chairman ignored her and returned to his room.

Y/N stood there, trembling. Anna’s words cut deep. Did she really think of her as mentally unstable? She had tried to bury the memory of what happened two years ago. Discussing it was the last thing she wanted, especially in front of Jimin.

“What is she talking about?” Jimin frowned, concern etched on his face.

“It’s nothing,” Y/N forced a smile, but he wasn’t convinced.

Anna laughed maniacally. “Seems like you don’t know either. Let me enlighten you, little sis,” she sneered, unable to accept that their grandfather had chosen Y/N over her.
