The next morning, I woke to a peaceful silence throughout the house. I felt something warm and solid beside me as well. Turning my head to the left, I blinked and rubbed away the crust from my eyes. I gazed over at Anthony's sleeping form, oblivious to the world. Smiling, I remembered and relived the events of last night. It was one of the best nights of my life and right then, I truly felt at peace. The sun shone through the blinds and I faintly heard the pitter-patter of morning rain outside. I closed my eyes and breathed deep until I felt myself ease into a state between consciousness and sleep for the rest of the morning.

~

The sound of busyness and faint music in the kitchen jerks me awake and I tiredly sit up in bed, looking around the room. Delirious from sleep, I grab some clothes from Anthony's dresser and half stumble into the bathroom. After I finished my business, I stepped out, fully awake and dressed. Movement came from in the kitchen and I peeked around the corner, grinning when I saw Anthony diligently cooking breakfast. I quietly snuck up behind him and wrapped my arms around his torso, resting my head on his back. He jumped a bit and when he realized who it was, he relaxed.

'Hey babe. Good morning. I'm makin eggs and toast.' He spoke softly and I smiled at his words.

'Mmm. You should call me babe more. I like it.' I knew he was smiling as he held one of my hands and pushed the eggs around in the pan with the other. I let go and walked to the toaster, catching the toast just as it popped out. I set the burnt pieces of bread on a paper towel as Anthony placed eggs on a plate and set them on the coffee table. He turned the T.V on to Adventure Time and came back to clean up his little mess.
We were quiet for some time, sitting in comfortable silence on the couch eating breakfast, almost like the world didn't exist outside the house.

'I'm gonna go get a blanket, babe.' Anthony grinned at me when he saw my blush.

He came back a minute later and threw a fluffy black comforter over my head, laughing when I jumped. 'Oh come on Anthony, how mature are you?' I pulled it off and gave him a dirty look, but broke into a grin when I saw his smile. He pulled the blanket away and chuckled, slouching next to me, pulling me against his chest. I glanced at him from the corner of my eye, just enjoying the feeling of him by my side. Finally.
