The doorbell rings, waking me up.
It rings twice more, and I sigh because nobody is getting it.
Ty sits up, rubbing his eyes.
It's noon.
I drag myself down the hall.
"Thanks for getting the door." I mumble.
Everyone is awake.
I unlock the door and open it.
Dean.
He's rubbing the back of his neck.
"Um..." he hesitates, looking over my shoulder at all the people in my house. "I woke you up."
"Yes." I yawn. "Are you sober finally?" I ask.
"Yes. I um...don't remember anything..." he trails off.
"You want answers." I say simply.
He nods. I sigh loudly.
"Well for starters, I came home from Philadelphia to find you naked on my couch. Drunk."
he cringes.
"You puked on me. You puked like, thirty times. You got my carpet. You begged for me to take you back. You were crying. You said your parents moved to England and that your brother doesn't care about you. You said your life is terrible since I left. I drove you home."
"Why did you drive me home?"
"You were drunk. Just because we aren't together doesn't mean I don't care. You couldn't drive."
He sighs slowly.
"I'm really sorry. For burdening you."
"It's fine." I say.
"Did we um...we didn't..."
"We didn't have sex. We didn't kiss. We didn't even hug."
He nods. "Okay." he says. "I didn't know."
I shrug.
"Um...I need my car keys." he says.
"I don't have your car keys. If you don't remember anything from last night, how did you know your car was here?"
"I didn't. At first I thought it was stolen but then I realized that if I went somewhere, it would be to you." he says. "Can you please look for my keys? I don't...I don't have them and I'm going to be late for work."
Katie purses her lips.
With one look on her face I know she found his keys and took them.
Silently, I hold my hand out for them.
"I burned them." she says.
"Bullshit. Katie, give me the keys."
She glares at Dean, and then pulls the keys from her pocket and hands them to me.
I give them to Dean.
"I just...I have one question and then I'll leave you alone."
"I have a boyfriend." I say.
He sighs.
"Can I talk to you outside?" He asks.
No.
"Whatever you want to say you can say right here."
Silence.
"Fine." He says.
