TY'S POV STILL

I hesitated so much on leaving Megan to go out, but she insisted.

Begged, really. She said I needed a night out since the past year.

So I went out with the guy from the Jewelry store. His name is Andrew Beck and his buddies are Chase Jackson, Parker Bradge, and Jared Park. We played mini golf and then wen to see some strippers, but we're all engaged and we all agreed it was awkward without our ladies so we left and went to the bar. We're playing pool now. The only one not engaged is Jared. He's single.

We talk a lot about our ladies.

Chases girl is Abby Harding. From what I hear, she's nice. Andrew's girl is Danielle. She's Abby's sister. Parker's girl is Gabriella.

I look at my phone. It's one in the morning.

I text Megan.

Me: hows it going baby?

Baby: it's fine. You don't have to worry about me.

"Really? You're going to own an amusement park?"

I nod.
"Yes. I just can't find a perfect property."

"I know a place in California. It's gorgeous."

"Really?"

"Yeah. It's like...Seventeen thousand acres and my buddy is selling it for thirty."

"Wow." I say.

"I can talk to him...if you can afford it."

"Yeah, that'd be awesome."

Baby: I left.

I stare at my screen.

Me: someone drive you?

Baby: yes. Myself

Me: where are you

Baby: home now

"So tomorrow I was thinking about going to the mall because Abby has been begging me to go. We could go out and we could meet Megan, Ty, and then after we could go to the bar."

"Yeah, that sounds good." I nod. "Uh...do you mind if Megan brings her best friend? Her name is Katie."

"Is she hot?" Jared asks.

I shrug. "She's pretty."

"Bring her."

I nod. "Alright."

"Well," Andrew stands up. "My baby wants me home."

I nod. "Yeah. Megan is probably waiting up."

Everyone nods and after a few bro hugs, I head out.

I head home. The light is one in the living room.

I walk inside.

Music is playing and Megan is dancing.

I stand there and just watch her, and then I walk over to her phone and change the song to You and Me by Lifehouse.

She whips around.

I shut the lights off and pull her into the kitchen.

The only light is coming from the refrigerator.

She hesitates, and then we dance around the kitchen.

Her eyes stay locked on mine for the longest time.

She takes a deep breath and rests her head on my chest.

The song ends, but we just dance in silence.
