A year later, Trace and even Jett keep sending me videos of Ty's break downs.
He'll get drunk.
He'll lash out and break things.
And Katie, who I haven't seen in a year, sends me one.
This one is the worst.
It's clearly a hidden camera.
And he's just laying there, listening to a song.
I listen to it too, and it shatters me.
And finally, I break.
And I start breaking things, sobbing.
I destroyed him.
I made him a shadow of who he is.
I lost all my friends.
My parents can hardly look at me.
Even Mama R is pissed as hell.
I hardly have Ben.
He lives down the street to make sure I'm alive, but he only stops in once a week, and that's the only time I eat.
I'm so depressed.
It's a miracle I get up for work in the morning.
I turn on the song, Wait For You by Elliot Yamin, and I pace around the house.
Why can't you look at me?
You're still in love with me
Don't leave me crying
And I slip the rest of the way off the cliff, and suddenly, I'm back in high school.
The blade slides across my wrist.
I'm going to kill myself.
BEN'S POV
I didn't find her for a few hours, laying in her own blood.
Her wrists were slit so deep.
I was certain she sliced her vein in two.
I rushed her to the hospital, but nobody showed up.
Not my parents or grandparents. Nobody. Not even Mama R.
And not even Katie.
I look at my baby sister, stuck in a coma, and I lose it.
I search through her phone and see all the videos.
One of them is outside, where Ty's all sad walking the street.
He lives in Nashville, just like Megan and I.
I see the apartment number, and I put Megan's phone back on the counter and storm out of the hospital.
I speed to the apartments and search for hours for Ty's apartment.
When I find it, I hammer on the door.
Ty opens the door.
He looks healthy. Stronger, actually, but still depressed.
I don't freak out at him.
"Is Katie here?" I ask harshly. "How about Jett and Trace?"
"Yeah they're here." Ty mutters. "Why?"
I shove right into his apartment.
"Ben." Katie says.
I can tell she misses us.
I know she's trying to get in Megan's head to make her come back.
We all know that's what Ty and Megan need.
To be together.
I pace around wildly.
"Ben, you look...crazy." Katie whispers.
I laugh wildly. "Who could fucking blame me." I snarl. "You guys need to understand that Megan is fucking human, alright."
"I know that." Trace snaps.
"Well clearly you fucking don't. If you knew what, you'd understand what a mistake is!"Katie frowns.
"Ben, she hasn't even made an effort-"
"Katie, let me explain this slowly to get it through your obese fucking skull." I hiss. "You guys sent her over fifty seven videos of Ty having break downs-"
"What?" Ty cuts in. "You guys did what?"
"You didn't know?" I ask Ty. He shakes his head rapidly.
"We didn't do anything wrong." Katie says rudely.
"You didn't so anything wrong." I laugh, and then tears slide down my cheeks. "If you didn't do anything wrong, then my sister wouldn't be in a coma right now. You want to know why she's in a coma? She cut herself so damn deep that she almost bled to death. Why you ask? Because of those fucking videos!"
Silence.
"I didn't. Oh god!" Ty runs his hands over his face.
"So yeah, you guys think you're helping. I get what you were trying to do. You were trying to make her feel guilty and come back. And yeah, I don't fucking blame you." I say. "We all know that they need to get back together, but now, because you guys sent her those videos, there's a ninetly percent chance that won't happen because there's a ninety percent chance that she's not waking up! Stay the fuck away from my sister and don't send her another video, or I will kill you." I turn around and head for the door. "And you all know I don't make open ended threats!"
I slam the door.
I'm crying just saying
