(Y/N)’s POV:

“Can you see anything?” I asked while walking back to William, who was standing in the sitting room with his eyes closed, “I’ve turned all the lights off, so you can open your eyes now.” He looked around, “Woah, this is definitely new.”

“What is it?” I slowly stepped closer, his eyes immediately darted over to me as he smiled.

“I see everything much better than before. Everything is so crisp and clear, I feel like the shadows aren’t even there regardless of everything being grey-toned,” he began walking around the house with me following behind him, going into windowless rooms, “I can even see in pitch black.” He spoke with a little giggle, clearly excited about his newfound senses. William’s eyes reflected like an animal’s catching the dim light, though it reflected lavender instead of green.

“Are you having fun?” I asked with a little chuckle, following behind him as we ascended the stairs.

“Very much so, everything is a lot brighter,” he stopped by the sofa and turned to me, reaching out and holding my hand.

“What do you hear?” I asked softly, meeting his eyes. He blinked in a confused way, “Close those beautiful eyes of yours and focus on what you hear. This exercise is supposed to be a way to find out what has been enhanced, yes?”

“You’re right, you’re right,” he obeyed and closed his eyes, “I can hear… your heartbeat, it’s slow and consistent with your breathing. Is that normal? Should I be able to hear your heartbeat?”

“It’s normal for wolves, not for humans, though. Maybe the remnant is turning you into a more effective hunter? Even though it’s children?” I chuckled playfully.

“Oh gods, it’s going to be deafening at the pizzeria with this level of hearing,” he huffed, though I doubt he was actually upset about this.

“It probably won’t be, with how adaptive remnant has been,” I pointed out, “At least this will make sneaking up on you harder.” I laughed in remembrance of when Micheal and I took turns sneaking up on William to scare him, finding it surprisingly easy.

“Maybe I’ll get back at you and Micheal for that little game you both had going,” he scowled at me and opened his eyes, a petty glare in his gaze.

“It was so funny though!” I laughed and stepped closer to him, resting my hands on his chest, “Though, I think you’d have more luck scaring Micheal than scaring me, darling.”

“Really? I’ll take you up on that challenge,” he smirked dangerously at me. His hands moved to my waist, they were cold through my jumper due to the early winter chill–as was any other exposed skin that bore gooseflesh. His devilish smirk turned to surprise as he suddenly pulled me flush against him, “Oooh, you’re so warm! How the hell are you always warm?”

“Wolf soul, remember?” I chuckled and wrapped my arms around his neck, my head tucked under his jaw, “You’re probably frozen to the bones, you poor, thin man. It’s no wonder you’re always so cold.”

“Mmm, at least I have you to keep me warm, then, yeah?” He hummed as he rested his chin on my head, “Since you call me bunny, can I call you puppy?”

“You do that, and you’ll be sleeping in the barn with Pet,” I was not going to be called something so belittling.

“Not the barn! You’d do that to me?” William only laughed at me, running his fingers through my hair.

“I wouldn’t put you in the barn… I’d put you on the couch downstairs,” I huffed, enjoying the affection.

“Aww, is my little pup getting upset?” He only laughed harder when I pushed off him and started walking towards the bedroom, “Come on, love! It’s only a joke!”
