(y/n)’s POV:
“Now, let’s see…” Josephine turned towards William and slowly sauntered closer to him. Before a sound could leave her mouth, Mercedes burst through the garage-access door and tore into the closest goon’s trouser leg, growling and tugging in an attempt to pull them away from William. (D/n) copied, grabbing the same goon’s arm and using his body weight to imbalance the large mass, “Dammit, get rid of those fucking dogs!” Just as I was about to call them off, the baton came down hard on Mercedes' head. It made a hollow crack and spark as he repeatedly kicked and shoved at the dogs, swinging the baton. Mercedes tumbled down the stairs into the garage and I screamed in fright of them killing my dogs. (D/n) cowered by my side, crouching near my feet with their tail quivering between their legs. My heart was beating in my throat and blood roared in my ears as I took the moment of distraction, lunging forward and taking a handful of the woman’s hair. I threw her head against the granite countertop twice before shoving her to the floor and straddling her. Just before one of her faithful goons took hold of my arms, I managed a deep swipe at Josephine’s throat.
Blood sprayed in a high arc from the gashed artery, the woman’s eyes wide as she weakly grasped at her blood fountain of a throat. I thrashed and snarled at the one who held my arms behind me, attempting anything to get out of their hold. Around this time, the floorboards creaked underfoot as Micheal made his way to the entry of the kitchen. He held a stoker from the fireplace above his head, the worker holding my arms had enough time to fully turn towards the boy before the iron met his head with a solid thud. In order not to get hit, I’d ducked my head down and shoved the body away from me. Micheal barely saved himself from getting cut as the machete-wielding footman slashed at him. William stood and punched the other one, sending him stumbling back into the counter. From there, I got a handful of his short hair and forced his head back before sinking my canines into his jugular and separating flesh from tendon and bone.
Hot, thick blood flooded my mouth and splattered my face and the kitchen wall. The veins popped and muscle fibres tore as I ripped my face from his neck, sending a cascade of rich red across my nearby lover and the ceramic tiled floor. I swallowed what I bit off, though I knew I might end up vomiting it up later. “What the hell. What the actual hell was that!” Micheal’s panicked voice cut through the adrenaline clouding my hearing.
“That,” I turned towards them, bracing myself on William’s shoulder. He reciprocated by holding me against his side, his arm around my waist, “That was my aunt, I suppose. I never knew she was related to me until today, I thought she was just an ex-friend of the family… Since, well, we don’t affiliate with Monteils.” I sighed and leaned against William’s chest with my head below his chin and my arms around his waist.
“And you killed her???” He sounded absolutely taken aback by the fact that there were four human bodies in my kitchen, which I suppose is understandable.
“She was a bitch trying to get into a business she doesn’t have any reason getting into. She married into my family, then got divorced and still thought she had the right to inherit. There are things in my family that need not be common knowledge, especially to people like her,” I state firmly, moving away from William to get a cup of water.
“Again, you killed her?? Your reason doesn’t exactly make sense, (y/n)!” He returned with a scoff.
“What do you mean by there are things that need to stay within your family? You and I are together, does that mean that you’ll eventually have to kill me too? Or that you’ll live alongside me without being completely honest with me? If that’s how it’ll be, then–”
“William, I would NEVER kill you. Ever. And I can’t lie to you, so please never speak like that,” I cut him off, turning to look at him. As much as I hated it, the pain his words caused was evident in my voice, “I will be honest to you, to both of you… I just…” I swallowed thickly, trying to keep the conflict of my thoughts from affecting how I speak and what I say. William looked hurt, though he avoided my gaze and tried to hide it. Micheal stood against the counter looking very confused.
