Chapter 9 Premonition or nightmare

The sky was full. All I could see were stars for miles. I sat ontop of my roof staring up at the big dipper. This was my happy place where I could get away from all the alpha duties as well as my own reality. Watching a star shoot across the sky I found myself wishing to feel Viviana's lips once again.  The fact that she wouldn't speak to me or even look at me at work today killed me.  I have never had my heart broken before but I'm pretty sure this is how it felt.  I wouldn't survive another shift with her avoiding me so I called Sheila. " Hello"?  Hey Sheila this is Nisiah I hate to say this but I won't be returning to work ". She hesitates " is this because of Viviana"? The sound of her name caused my chest to hurt "  no, why would you say that"?  " Nisiah I saw how you two acted today and when you walked out I kinda figured I'd get this phone call". I sigh " No I just have a better opportunity it's nothing to do with her". She groans "ok well it was nice working with you, good luck". " Thanks Sheila".  I hung up the phone, grabbed my keys and headed to Nathan's pub at the edge of town.  I find an empty booth almost hidden in the corner making myself comfortable ordering a drink when I see Lucian with some busty redhead rubbing his hands up and down her leg like she was a lamp and a genie would pop out at any moment.  I finish my drink walking over to them when Lucian looks up. " Look who I found ,why are you here Lucian, isn't Viviana waiting for you at home"?  I smile at the redhead and she scoffs getting up and walking away allowing me to take her seat.  Lucian lams his hand against the bar. " So I'm guessing that bitch called you to follow me and make sure I'm not making any more deals with Ivan"? My jaw tenses " Ivan"?  Lucian takes a drink and groans " don't act like he didn't tell you, I'm not fucking stupid". Confusion and frustration feel me if he didn't get to a point I was going to rip him in half . " Tell me what Lucian"?  He smirks " well now, I sense trouble in best friend land ". My fist clenched and I could feel the beast inside me trying to work his way to the surface." Just tell me Lucian"! He looks at me contemplating before speaking . " Dulang told Viviana the next time I was late that he would take her as payment ". I freeze my blood running cold . Lucian Just stares at me with that shit eating grin looking satisfied getting up and stopping inches from my face " leave her alone she is mine ! What I choose to do with her is my business, enjoy your drink Nisiah I've got something to handle ". He walks off finding the redhead disappearing into the bathroom.  I rush outside to catch my breath, damn it ! Lucian's going to end up getting Viviana killed or worse and there's nothing I could do about it .  I dial Theo it rings twice before he picks up" yes boss"?  " Hey when you're done I need you to keep an eye out on Viviana Matthews for me , if Ivan Dulang goes anywhere near  her or her apartment contact me immediately ". '' Yes sir, I'll finish training and head there now". I hang up trying my luck with Viviana once again texting her about Lucian and the redhead and apologizing one more time before putting my phone back into my pocket cranking up my truck and heading home.  I get home crawling into my bed and sleep comes easy but it's the dream that becomes rough. " Nisiah"! "Nisiah"! I hear Viviana screaming my name.   I get up running down the hallway to find a purple door at the end of the hall. I open the door to see Viviana holding a lifeless baby girl in her arms wailing and begging for me to save her. I kneel down beside her kissing her forehead and focus all my energy on the baby but nothing happens . I apologize with tears in my eyes " there's nothing I can do love ,she is gone"! She looks up at me and I watch as all hope drains from her face and she starts screaming so loud the walls crack and the windows shatter. I try to grab her by pulling her to leave but her scream is so powerful it pushes me outside into a tree causing everything to go black. I jump up out of my sleep, startled, scared and worried.  What the hell was that about and why did it feel so real?  I grab my phone looking at the time and notice a text from Viviana making my heart skip a beat. Viviana:" thanks for telling me about Lucian il take care of it  not like you could have stopped him anyway".  Anger and guilt catch in my throat but I don't reply. There's nothing that I could say that would help the situation,so I'll just leave it alone and pray that she forgives me and comes back.   I lay back down in bed watching as the rain started to fall into my bedroom window ceiling . Today was an absolute shit show and I could only imagine what the rest of the week was going to be like.
