October 23rd - Dawn

"Being Human" from Emily King was playing as the sun rised from the horizon, casting a heartwarming glow. It was a long drive you had to take on your own, thing you somehow regretted, not feeling ready to asume what it could mean for you.

October 17th - Evening

At 23:01 in the evening it was time to farewell your 23rd birthday, as well as your parents who were leaving just the next day.

"I hope you had fun, baby girl," your dad said, planting a gentle kiss on your forehead.

"I really did," you answered. With a smile, he disappeared into the bathroom, leaving you and your mom both alone in the living room.

"Sweetie, can you come here? Just a moment," she asked, prompting you to join her in the couch.

"Of course," you replied, placing a reassuring hand on her leg. "What do you need?"

Without a word more, she handed you an envelope containing a letter, her trembling fingers not escaping your notice.

October 23rd - Noon

Your grandma had passed away not much before. As your parents didn't live close enough, you were the one in charge of taking care of all the paperwork.

"This'll pull it off," you mumbled as you got inside her house. There was a long day ahead of you.

October 15th - Morning

"Surprise!" Steven exclaimed as he burst through the Beach House's door.

The hours that followed were filled with both laughter and tears, not a single moment wasted. The Crystal Gems were finally back together.

"C'mon, Amethyst! It's my turn to hug him!" Pearl exclaimed as she wouldn't let Steven go.

Garnet instead stared at her with her usual challenging gaze. "Amethyst..."

Amethyst finally gave in and released Steven after what felt like hours, his only reaction a laughter at the gems attitude. Before Pearl could even try, Garnet already wrapped her arms around Steven and held him tightly, her being the one to play unfair then.

October 17th - Evening

"But mom! I have patients! I can't just move away," you protested, causing her eyes to waver.

"It will just be some months until everything is settled, you know your father and I can't take care of it. Besides, they opened this new center where you can get that Master's Degree you always wanted. You'll have fun, didn't you have friends in Beach City?" Her curiosity made you look away, feeling embarrassed.

"I haven't set foot in Beach City since I started college. I lost touch with all of them," you admitted, your gaze fixed on the floor.

"Even that friend of yours? What was his name again, Stephen? The one you stayed with that summer five years ago?" She continued, and you clenched your fists.

"I lost his contact when I changed numbers. After a year, he stopped calling me," you said coldly.

"What about that summer romance? Do you still keep in touch with G-?" you interrupted her.

"I don't want to talk about this anymore," you responded in the verge of tears.

She sighed tiredly, it's clear she was trying her best. "If that is how it is... Tell your patients you'll start with online sessions. And give your grandma's old house a use and make it into your new office. Start packing your things, you'll be leaving on Friday."
