"No worries, I'll help." Steven smiled widely, taking a seat next to you and Garnet on the couch. You still felt dizzy, Garnet's hand on your thigh provided some comfort.
He looked around, then spotted your glass of water and drank from it. "Here, take a sip," he offered.
You took the cup in your hands, slowly drinking from it. You did feel something change, but it didn't alleviate your tiredness. "Thank you, Steven. But I already told you, I'm not sick."
Garnet gently rubbed your back, and he hummed in thought. "How much did you sleep last night?"
"Oh, um..." you pondered for a moment. "Nothing...?"
"Well, there you have it, you're just sleep-deprived." Steven looked back at Garnet, who returned a concerned expression. "Do you usually have trouble falling asleep?"
"Uh, no. I don't think so." You turned to look at Garnet, who had her visors on again, making her impossible to read.
Garnet's expression widened in concern. Steven realized it and asked, "Are you sure?"
You scratched your head. "No." You admitted.
Pearl and Amethyst paid close attention to the conversation, moving their seats closer.
"Then what's wrong?" Steven continued asking, and Garnet stroked your hair gently.
"I don't know," you mumbled. "It's hard to fall asleep."
Garnet and Steven exchanged knowing looks. "Why is it hard to fall asleep?"
"I've had to sleep in my grandma's room," you inhaled, preparing to continue. "It's hard to fall asleep only thinking about her."
Steven gave you his usual empathetic look, and even Pearl and Amethyst did. Garnet cupped your cheek softly.
"Thank you for telling us," Garnet answered, carefully caressing your cheek. It's easy to be honest when talking to such accepting people.
"Okay, I just got the best idea." Steven smiled, but it vanished away. "Yet again, I'm 21, and it's been really hard for you all to accept it, and this might throw it all away." He mockingly crossed his arms and averted his gaze.
The gems took not too long to complain. "Aw, c'mon! We're not that annoying."
Just after that, everyone burst into laughter. "Okay, okay." Steven loosened his arms. "What if we had a... Slumber party?"
You were the first to be confused, quickly followed by the rest of the crew. "What?"
"Yeah! We'd all go to your place and sleep there! You can't think of your grandma if we're there, can you?" He smiled; he's grown so much, and yet on the inside, he's the same sweet guy who made everyone's lives better.
"I think it's a really good idea," Garnet interfered, her closeness to your ear made your cheeks redden.
"If you're in, we're in!" Amethyst said, wrapping an arm around Pearl's shoulder.
And in they were.
The doorbell rang. Having already changed into your surprisingly-good-looking, really loose and baggy pajamas, you opened the door to find the gems in their cutest outfits.
Amethyst's fit was similar to yours, with a purplish color scheme. Pearl's was also somewhat alike, but her pants were much tighter; you couldn't understand how she could sleep like that.
Then your gaze turned to Garnet, who was wearing the most oversized shirt you'd ever seen. You weren't even able to tell if she was wearing shorts or not. You wouldn't admit it out loud, but you wished she didn't, or if she did, that they were, in that way like Pearl's.
