summary: what if king didn't kill adam, but adam gets the upper hand and manages to shoot king?
Adam had never been so terrified in his entire life, but right now a gun was aimed at him, Samuel King was aiming a gun at him, The Crimson Order must have sent King out to kill him, He knew too much.
The Crimson Order knew how to keep people quiet and every single way possible.
But Adam wasn't ready to die, There was still so much you wanted to do in his life.
adam: We can talk about this, You don't need to kill me.
king: I have to kill you, I don't want to do this either but I have no choice but to end your life, I have heard about what you have done.
adam: But I didn't do anything wrong though!
King just raised an eyebrow at him.
adam: Okay so I may have done some questionable things but it doesn't mean I'm a bad person, So you can just put the gun down.
king: If I don't kill you then my own granddaughter dies, I am not losing my family, I already lost my wife and my son, I'm not going to lose cathy.
Adam then looked at a book that was nearby, He grabbed it and threw it at king, Who fell to the ground with a thud.
adam:'grabs the gun and aims it at king'
He never really held a gun before and accidentally pulled the trigger.
blood splattered unto the ground as king held his shoulder.
Adam with frozen and horror as he had realized what he had done, He had shot the police chief, He had put himself in even more danger, Not only the crimson order was going to go after him, But the police was going to be after him as well! He had to run and get out of there before anyone saw him.
But it seemed like Lady Luck was not on his side because two officers had run in, David Jeremiah Jones and Lazara Maria Gravestone.
He knew that she was going to put things together and think that he shot their chief, But it looked like Jones was boiling with anger.
jones: YOU!
adam: h-hey, this isn't what it looks like! i-i didn't mean to shoot him!
jones: you better keep your fucking mouth shut! I know that you're just trying to lie! I knew there was something fishy about you and I was right!
lazara:'kneels down to king'sir, are you okay? What happened? And why are you two in this room?
king: I wanted to make sure everything was okay and I saw him in there, He threw a book at my head and I fell down, He grabbed my gun and aimed it at me, But he must have not used a gun before because he ended up shooting my shoulder, I'm not sure if it wasn't accident or on purpose because it was too difficult to tell.
lazara: There's a chance you might have gotten a concussion sir.
king: I know this day supposed to be very important for the mayor but I don't think I can make it, Can you explain it to him when the ambulance arrives?
lazara: Of course sir.
adam: Now that's just pure bullshit! I was in this room when he walked in all of a sudden and aimed his gun at me!
jones: And why would he aim his gun at you? Do you have a weapon on you?
adam: I didn't have anything with me! He was sent there to kill me! He was going to murder me if I didn't throw that book at him! I have to do something to keep myself alive! You have to believe me!
jones: Then where's your proof that he tried to kill you?
adam: Well you don't have any proof that I try to kill him!
jones: You shot him in his shoulder, There's also a book on the ground near him and he has a bruise on his head! His story makes sense, And why would someone want him to kill you anyway? That doesn't make any sense at all!
adam: Because I know too much! I know about the Crimson Order!
lazara: The Crimson Order? What are you talking about?
adam: Well I'll gladly tell you everything! I'm going to die anyway so I might as well tell you! you see-
jones: shut up, i don't want to hear it, you tried to kill my chief and you will pay for it! your lucky there are witnesses here or i'll-
serena: what is going on here?!
they all look and see serena johnson, the mayor's mother.
serena: oh dear, samuel?! what happened to you?! why isn't anyone taking you to the hospital?! i know you want to keep an eye on the election, but i don't want a dead man at the elections! we already have to deal with so much death that it's horrifying!
lazara: adam attacked king and shot him in the shoulder.
adam: i didn't do anything! he tried to kill me! the crimson order sent him-
serena: shut it!
adam: but-
serena: i do not want to hear another word come out of that damn mouth of yours, there's no way samuel would do anything like that at all! he's so kind and has helped so many people! yet you accuse him of attempted murder?! officer jones, take this man away! i do not want to hear another word out of him!
jones: yes ma'am.
he handcuffs adam and takes him away.
adam: i know the truth! samuel king isn't who he says he is!
serena: and you are clearly crazy.
then she walks towards lazara.
serena: i am so sorry you had to witness so much, i am ashamed that he's here right now, do you think the ambulance is going to be here soon?
lazara: yes, i wrapped up the injury so it wouldn't bleed for a while and enough time so he can go to the hospital to get it properly treated.
serena: You truly are a wonderful officer, I can handle things from here, Go outside and wait for the ambulance, Tell officer Jones to wait outside with you to deal with the crowd, Does that sound okay with you?
lazara: Only if it's okay with the chief.
king: It's okay with me, Serena knows what she's doing, I've known her for a very long time after all.
lazara: ok.
she stands up and walks outside, serena looks at king.
serena: give me one good reason why Adam isn't dead right now?
king: he caught me off guard, but this is a good chance to make me look innocent and with Adam in jail, possibly in the Asylum, no one would take him seriously, They would think it's just crazy and just trying to make himself look innocent.
serena:....good point, Plus you did get shot so it will make your point look better.
king: exactly, I technically got rid of him.
serena: I will let you win for now, I will make sure he goes in that asylum no matter what, And that he's heavily medicated, So no one will get suspicious, and the ambulance is going to be arriving soon so just stick with your story, You know that if you change your story you'll look more suspicious.
king: I know Serena, I'm a police chief so I know what I'm doing.
serena: good.
king looks at the ceiling and sighs a bit.
What did he get himself into this time? He hated lying to everyone but he had to do it just to keep his granddaughter safe, He wasn't going to let anyone kill her.
And if the Crimson Order wanted to kill Cathy, He would ask them to kill him instead, He was already preparing to kill himself because he knew the case will get solved if he had murdered Adam originally, But it seemed like things were changing.
He didn't know if it was going to be good or bad, But he would have to wait and see what happens.
