chapter 5: this is the real me

summary: takes place in the SOMBRA!lars au, michelle and adalet have gotten enough evidence to arrest the mole.

author note: to astra, i hope you don't mind that i'm using adalet for this one shot.

michelle: lars douglas, you are under arrest for the murder of lavinia de brills, i can't believe it! you didn't seem like the kind of person who would have murdered someone! you seem so kind, especially with your jokes!

adalet: lars.....

lars: what are you talking about? i didn't kill lavinia!

adalet: but the evidence is against you, you eat W&W!

lars: so? almost everyone eats them, especially elliot, and what makes you think the pieces weren't his? he could have eaten them!

adalet: but he isn't blonde! we also found a lot of evidence as well, the killer is a blonde man! who!-

lars: this is insane! i'm a father, i helped you guys on a lot of cases, how could i be SOMBRA? they have put the lives of children in danger! do you think i'm a heartless monster?! i know i'm not always the brightest bulb in the room or the sharpest tool in the toolbox, but you have to believe me!

michelle: you sent an assassin to kill carmen when you realized that adalet was getting closer to the truth!

lars: i didn't want to hurt carmen or even wanted her dead at all! i just needed more time to stall the investigation, if only jonah wasn't there! everything would have been perfect! you would have either been injured or dead!

adalet:.....you really are a traitorous bastard.

lars: look, i've been SOMBRA for a very long time, ever since i was a young adult, they believed in me when no one else did! i just had to hide that with a loving personality, and of course, it worked well, i fooled everyone, even you! And you were supposed to be the greatest detective of all time, yet you didn't even know there was a traitor, i i guess my acting was very good.

adalet: i thought you were my friend.

lars: i was but only for my cover.

michelle: angela is going to be so disappointed in you when she finds out the truth! Was she just part of your cover as well?!

lars: no, i was told not to marry her,It was the first time I disobeyed their orders, I love Angela with all my heart, I don't want anything bad to happen to her.

adalet: Well that's a load of bullshit.

lars: i'm just doing what i was told to do, you can't blame me for following orders, i just did what was necessary.

adalet: do you have any idea how many lives were at risk, the amount of lives we lost, the amount of lives people lost.

lars: it's because they were weak and if you're weak then you die more easily, it's just how life is, It's unfair and you need to be strong if you want to live, If you're not,Then people are just going to keep on hurting you more and more,until there's nothing left, Why did you think i told them about fili?

adalet: w-what?

lars: I wanted to help him, I could sense that he was weak,But he had the potential of becoming stronger, I could sense it in him, If only we had him for a bit longer, Then we could have made real progress.

adalet: did you not see the state he was in?!

lars: of course I did but we could help him!

adalet: you are going to stay away from my husband.
