Musical Suggestion: Good Thing by Zedd w/Kehlani
I totally crashed the night before. I woke up to my television and lights still on, along with empty cans of beer beside my bed. That burger and fries hit the spot last night. My phone was ringing which was the reason for me waking up. I answered without looking to see who was calling.
"Hello?"
"Are you still asleep?" Ji-Won's soothing voice was the first thing I heard in the morning. It made me smile.
"Yup. I knocked out hard last night. I drank all the beer."
"All of them? You said you wanted to sleep well."
"And I did. So what do I owe the pleasure of this call today?"
"Are you hungry?" he asked, knowing how good and well I was.
I don't know why, when you eat late at night, your stomach is literally growling in the morning as if you haven't eaten in days.
"I'm starving. How did you know?"
"I always know. Well hurry and get dressed, I'm outside your building waiting for you to let me in to make you breakfast."
My eyes got huge. He was downstairs! I ran to the window and looked out and there he was walking around in circles on the phone carrying a bag of groceries.
"Are you serious? You don't have plans today?"
"Nope, just thought I would see how you are doing and see if there is anything I should be prepared for tomorrow."
"Ah, okay, understood. Well come on up, I'm on the 7th floor, apartment 710 at the end of the hallway, left of the elevator."
"Okay, I'm coming up, " he said as he disconnected the phone.
I immediately ran to the bathroom to see how I looked. My hair was still in a ponytail yet a few strings of hair had come loose. I was still wearing the same outfit I had on which meant I needed to hit the shower.
I grabbed a pair of cotton shorts, a t-shirt and a pair of fluffy socks and put them in the bathroom just as the doorbell buzzed.
I walked over to the door, trying to calm myself as I was about to let Ji-Won into my place. I have never let anyone in my place since I've moved here. I figured it was okay with Ji-Won as we don't have the type of relationship where I need to hide.
"Hi Ji-Won," I said, opening the door.
"Hi Abby," he replied, smiling that magnificent smile. The dimples just take me down each time I see them.
"Come in, come in," I said excitedly. He stepped into my apartment and removed his shoes. "Do you want house shoes? I have an extra pair for visitors, even though I've never had any."
"No, I'm good with my socks," he said. "I have food here to cook for us."
"Please make yourself at home." I said walking into the kitchen and turning on the lights. "I hope you don't mind if I go and take a shower, I fell asleep in my clothes last night."
"Go wash up. I'll be fine," he said as he unloaded his bag full of goodies. I smiled and left to take a nice, quick, hot shower.
After my shower, I blow dried and flat ironed my hair - silky straight. I looked cute in my comfy shorts, t-shirt and fluffy socks. It was perfect for me to have a relaxing day at home. As I returned to the kitchen, the aroma of food hit my nose and made me curious.
Ji-Won had set the table with our meal and it looked amazing.
"Oh my goodness, you made all of this?"
