Musical Suggestion: Situationship by Snoh Aalegra
The commercial for Ji-Won's cafe turned out amazing. I was surprised by the outcome with the little time we had to put it together. But I had picked a great team and they pulled it together. We worked our asses off for that and it helped Ji-Won in the end. His foot traffic increased by 20 percent which meant he was able to hire another staff member which allowed him to focus on other things within the coffee shop. I was glad it turned out well.
Corporate was happy about it as well. They sent a basket of goodies and the team went wild. They also all received a goodie bag, which they didn't expect working for an American company. There are some perks. Of course they received some bonus cash, but they also received an iPhone and an extra gift. This company definitely knew how to appreciate their workers. I think that was what I loved about the company, they knew the value of their employees and compensated them well.
I was in the office, looking out the window enjoying the sights of the city. It was calm as it was very early in the morning. I arrived about an hour before the team would arrive in order to get a jump on things and to figure out what our next goal would be.
What happened next, I didn't expect at all.
The phone rang loudly, jolting me out of my daydream and making my heart beat a little faster. I looked over and it was Corporate calling. I wondered what they wanted to send us now.
"Hello Mr. Fitzgerald, how are you?" I looked at the time and it had to be about 6 pm back in Chicago.
"Hello Ms. Branson. I'm good, thank you for asking. I wanted to catch you before I left work. How are you doing?"
"Oh, I'm doing well Sir. Thank you for asking. Is there something you need?"
"Ah, yes. I want to first thank you again for doing such a great job with the small business market. It was incredible with the impact and increase in the interest as well. Good job Ms. Branson. Well done," he said respectively. I liked Mr. Fitzgerald. He may have been with the company the longest but he has kept it real and honest.
"Thank you again Mr. Fitzgerald. The team did an astounding job. I will let them know you spoke of them."
"Yes, please do so," he said, clearing his throat. "Ok, down to business Ms. Branson. I heard that there is this product that we would like to test out in Seoul. It is a cologne or light body spray for men. We want you to find a good talented individual who could endorse this product."
"Of course, we could produce that." I said without thinking. I already had one person in mind.
"Oh the confidence in you. You said that without hesitation. I'm impressed," he stated. He knew good talent.
I knew I had made an impression on him, but he was an old buzzard that doesn't express it out loud as often. I wanted to be noticed as it was the only way I knew how to make a difference and the only way they would take me seriously.
"Yes Sir. I love challenges. I never agree to something when I can't produce it. But I already have someone in mind that would do just perfect."
"A woman with connections. You are a force to be reckoned with. I was told to keep my eye on you. You are going places and making the gentlemen over here very nervous," he snickered.
I giggled, "As they should be. As you said, I'm a force to be reckoned with." He let out a huge laugh which made me smile.
"And smart as a whip. Quick on your feet too. Yes, keep it up. I look forward to seeing great things from you."
"Thank you Sir."
"I'll be emailing you everything shortly. Let me know if you need anything. I'll look forward to hearing from you."
