~Scott~

"Okay, you're going to go to that party for Scarlett. She needs you at this time. Give Kirstie her space, and if she wants to talk, don't defend yourself. You screwed up, big time." I whispered to myself s I looked at the mirror in front of me.

I shook my head. "Why the hell am I talking to myself?" I fixed my hair and went out the door to my new apartment, walking down the stairs to my driver and headed to the venue of my daughter's 7th birthday party with my gift in hand.

~Kirstin~

"Thanks for coming!" I told Mitch, a big gift in hand. I let go of the hug, helping him with the gift and placing it on the wide table filled with gifts in all shapes in sizes. I already knew one was a scooter.

I escorted him to the table nearest to Scarlett's, who was currently playing with her friends, her little Alice costume looking beautiful in her shape. Her black headband and black flats made her look like a carbon copy of Alice.

The Alice in Wonderland theme was everything I wished for. The Cheshire cat themed photo booth, the direction signs,  and even the teacups and food all copied what was in the Disney movie itself.

All of the tea party food and drinks were in one, big, long table in the middle where all of the kids would be sitting. Then the circular tables were for the much older guests, but everything has matched the theme.

It was a star-studded birthday, too. Kelly Clarkson, Hailee Steinfeld, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift and her new boyfriend Calvin Harris, Even Beyonce and Jay-z was there with Blue Ivy!

Tori, my very close friend was situated with Mitch, keeping my close friends in the same table as me. Scott was moved to the table across us, since there were some.... issues.

Scott was dropped off in Scarlett's beautiful outdoor venue, a pocket watch and top hat in hand.

"Daddy!" Scarlett shouted, dropping whatever she was holding and running up to her Dad. Scott stumbled back in surprise, but hugged her back tightly, lifting her off the ground.

"I missed you!" He smiled, not letting go of the hug.

Multiple 'aw's were heard from the crowd, the photographer, taking a picture of the precious moment.

They both let go, Scott setting her down as she pulls him around the place, telling him about ll the beautiful decorations.

"Kirstie? Hello?" Mitch said, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Wh-What?" I asked, not ungluing my eyes on the pair.  My daughter loves him so much.

He sighs. "You should walk up to him, you know." Mitch told me, sipping on his glass of red wine.

I widen my eyes when he tells me his suggestion. "No way! Can't you see they're having a great time? And, I don't think know's the right time." I told him truthfully.

He placed his hand on my shoulder, rubbing it. "Now's the perfect time to talk, Kit-Kat. You know how much she loves him, Kirstie. At least try to make things right." He told me.

I take a deep breath, exhaling it after a few seconds. "You're right. Excuse me?" I said before walking to the direction of my daughter and her Dad.

"And then, Mommy got me a really pretty dress and it's blue!" I heard her say, her eyes filled with happiness.

"That's wonderful, Princess!" Scott replied.

"Um, Scott?" I said, looking down at my black and red stilettos.

Scott looks up at me, his expression changing immediately. He stood up. "Yeah?" he answered.

"Would you mind if, we, um, talked for a minute?" I asked.

He nods, kissing my daughter's forehead before we both walked to a small place I found hidden in the trees, far from the venue.

I sit on the old wooden bench as he follows suit. We sit in silence for a while, taking in the beautiful place surrounding us.

"Kirstie, can I just say something?" He said, breaking the silence.

"Look, I screwed up. I get it. I am willing to take blame for everything. But I don't want things to end because of this little problem.-"

"Little problem? Are you freaking kidding me?! I get your side of the story, and I believe you, but this 'little thing' won't be easily forgotten, Scott. You broke the trust I gave you, that won't be easily replaced after what you did. The problem I have with you right now is that you think I'll forgive you in a snap! You cheated on your own girlfriend who carried your daughter and soon to be twins! Of course, I would trust you so much. You knocked me up twice now and we're back to square one!" I snapped.

"Do you think I wanted you to get pregnant 7 years ago? Huh? I never wanted to have a kid at 16! I could've helped you, Kirstie. We could have raised Scarlett together! But you ran away like a coward only to be seen six years later!" He shouted back.

"Oh my God, I'm the coward here? You don't get it, do you? I'm not angry at you because of you not being there when she was young, but it was because of what you did!  And don't you even dare call me a coward. I ran away because I loved you, Hoying! I did it because I knew you would be pursuing such a hard career, and I didn't want anything to keep you from getting where you are now! I loved you." I said, my voice cracking at the end.

He scratches his head in annoyance. "Then you should've let me unbutton your shirt then, if you weren't ready." He grunted in annoyance, reminding us of what happened back in high school.

"Oh, so now it's my fault? Who started it? Who lit a candle, made sure no one was home, and bought the condom, huh?" I defended.

"You said you wanted to make your first time special!" He said.

"But I didn't want to do it at that age! I was just in the moment." I told him.

"And why the hell are we blaming Scarlett for this? Are you implying that you cheating on me is incorporated with you knocking me up? What the hell Scott?"

"I-I, I just, I still want to be part of their lives, Kirstie. As much as it hurts me to say this, but even when we break up, I still want to be there for the kids. I want to be there when the twins are born, I want to be there during weekends, appointments. everything. Just, give me a chance after this? Please?" he said quietly, his face getting closer to mine.

I opened my mouth to respond, but I decided to close it gain instead. I nod at him.

He smiles wide, immediately enveloping me in his tight embrace. "Thank you, so much. I promise I won't let you down."

I wanted to hug back, but I had to show that I wouldn't easily melt in his touch. Which was happening right now, to be honest. His muscular body made me feel safe and his scent just-

Kirstie.
