I couldn't get the question out of my head. What if I really was pregnant? What would come out of it? What if my management drops me? My career would be over.

Okay. You can't be pregnant. You just can't.

But what if you are?

F*ck off conscience.

~ Two Weeks Later ~

Once Scarlett was put to sleep, I went downstairs to talk to Scott, who was cleaning our plates and being a good dad (And a hot one as well.)

"Hey Scott?" I asked as I slowly went up to him.

"Yeah, babe?" He answered, looking at me.

"I have a question, to ask. Um, can you set the plates down for a while?" I asked quietly.

"Sure." His (invisible) eyebrows raised in suspicion and turned off the faucet.

"Hey, are you okay Kirst? Is there anything wrong?" He asked concerned.

"It's just, did you, um, use protection?" I asked, eager for an answer.

His head tilted a bit. "Of course! Last night was pretty ama-"

"No, not that time. The one about a month ago after my interview?"

"Uh, I, I.........." His eyes narrowed then widened. " I don't, I don't think I did."
He held his head down. I just closed my eyes and exhaled the breath I was holding.

"What if I'm pregnant?" I whispered, my eyes getting teary. "Management could drop me and I'm sure we're going too fast with this relationship. How will I provide for the kid if I am pregnant? I'm sure you wouldn't want another one right now. I mean, you're 23 and you already have a six year old daughter." I mumbled.

" Hey, hey! Who told you I don't want a kid with you? It's just, Kirst, look, nothing is gonna change between us if there's a peanut in you or not." He wrapped me in his strong arms.

"Peanut? Really Scott?" I joked. We both let out a quiet laugh.

"Yes, peanut. Now, there's only one difference from your pregnancy with Scarlett." He kneeled down, placing both hands on my flat stomach.

"Okay? Scott, I'm not even sure if I'm  preggo." I told him

"Shhh. Now just ask what's the difference." He looked up. I chuckled.

"Well then, what's the difference then Scottie?"

"I'm gonna be there the whole step of the way." He whispered and kissed my belly.

He stood up and gave me a passionate kiss. "So, do you want to see a doctor tomorrow?"

"Not yet. I want to take tests first before the ultrasounds. I don't want to keep my hopes up too high."

He leads me upstairs and tucked ourselves into bed. "Anything for you Kirst. Anything."

~

"MOMMY DADDY WAKE UP! IT'S ALREADY 9 AM!" Scar shouted as she jumped on our bed.

Scott groaned and hugged me tighter. "Does she always wake up at this time?" He murmured, still not used to his daughter being a morning person.

"Mhm." I groaned back.

Scar didn't give up and tried to squeeze herself in between us. Scott eventually gave in and hugged Scarlett. He sat up and carried Scarlett downstairs. I heard giggles from downstairs that made me smile.
