You say "If you try your best I'll be proud."
But you also say, "Look at the rest, why can't you be like them?"

You say you don't care about grades,
And yet you question me whenever I get anything less than an A

You say to "strive not for perfection but progress."
But when I'm not the best you say I'm worthless.

I wish you were better to me.
I wish you meant what you said. 

But I also wish,
That someday I'll be the daughter you wished to raise.
