Chapter 5: ΔrrivΔl

Still Friday, July 20th. 4:09pm. Ash, Alain, and Dawn have arrived, from the ferry, at Lumiose City in the Kalos region.

Dawn: *thinking* (Now, I can finally hang with Ash here in Kalos, with no worries of those 3 girls messing with me! I wonder where we'll go first!)

Ash: "Wow, this city is huge and so beautiful!"

Alain: "Part of the reason I chose to come to Kalos first is because I'm from this region and I've been to this city before, so I know the way around."

Ash: "Alain, I don't wanna wait until tomorrow to get back to the training. I HAVE to get stronger to help stop the Tekiyoku. I wanna get to it now!"

Alain: "I'll admit that I'm impressed. You got a deal."

Dawn: *thinking* (Oh... I guess I won't get to hang with Ash yet after all...)

Alain: "Remember, we have to eventually find a hotel to stay in tonight, but leave that to me. Let's get to some training for now."

Alain leads them to a slightly sequestered area of the woods.

Alain: *holds his palms out* "Hit my hands. Let's see what you got."

Ash repeatedly punches Alain's palms with intensity.

Ash: *as he continues* "The Tekiyoku doesn't stand a chance! I'm gonna help fix this freakin' world! You can't push innocent people around! We're gonna stand up... once and for... ALL!!!"

His last punch sends Alain tumbling to the ground from the impact.

Ash: "Oh, I'm sorry, Alain."

Alain: *gets up* "No, no, it's fine, don't apologize. This is what I like to see. You're greatly improving."

Dawn: *watching from a short distance* *thinking* (Wow... Ash is incredible. His strength and determination... It's so admirable...)

After a little more training, they take a short break.

Ash: "I... I wanna do this even more now. See, my mom was also killed by the Tekiyoku a year ago for the same reason as Dawn's mom, not being able to pay the taxes. I wanna make things right."

Dawn: "Oh, I-- I didn't know... I'm sorry that happened, Ash."

Alain: "I am sorry you had to go through that, Ash."

Ash: "It's okay, she always said she wanted me to be happy no matter what happened with her and to just live my life. Her words keep me going! What's next, Alain?"

Alain: "I'm glad you asked. Look."

He pulls out a glistening dark pink object.

Alain: "This is a Psychic Gem. I have several of each type of Gem and Zenryoku Crystal."

Ash: "What is a Zenryoku Crystal?"

Alain: "Have you heard of the Z-Power that came from Alola? As in Z-Rings, Z-Crystals, etc.? That Z stands for Zenryoku, which translates to 'zenith', which means 'full power'. Gems and Zenryoku Crystals are all needed along with a Plate for someone to become a Manipulator. I have plenty in case we need them on this journey. But anyway, this is a Psychic Gem. Ash and Dawn, close your eyes... and do NOT peek."

They close their eyes. 3 minutes pass by.

Alain: "Okay, open your eyes."

When they open their eyes, they see Alain floating down slowly to the ground in front of them.

Dawn: "AH! Wh-- What was th-- Wh--"

Alain: "Dang, would you shut up?! I'm a Psychic and Flying Manipulator. Flying in the air is just one of my abilities. Okay Ash, I now need you to find that Psychic Gem."
