juniper sat in the music room pressing random keys on the piano, unable to think about the events that took place the night before. she heard the door open and saw archie walk in. "oh... hey jun. what are you doing here," asked archie. juniper looked at him. "not sure, actually," she responded. she then began to play a low pitched, slower version of fur elise. "hey, can i ask you something," asked archie. juniper nodded and continued to play. "why were you crying on the night of the dance," he asked. juniper paused. "i wasn't crying," she said. "i know what you sound like when you cry," said archie. juniper cursed herself. "why," the ginger asked.
"because you had taken betty to the semiformal," confessed juniper, looking at the piano. she pushed down on some keys and turned to look at archie. he sat down on the piano bench next to her. "why were you crying about that," he asked. juniper smiled sadly. "because i was gonna take her. i was gonna ask her. and she was gonna say yes. and we were gonna go together. and dance. and then we'd go home. it was gonna be perfect. but i know it wouldnt have gone that way. she was too busy falling for you," ranted juniper, taking archie's hands into her own. "you don't understand how lucky you are to have that girl, andrews. and then you let her go. that's the dumbest decision you could make," the girl said. archie looked into her eyes and looked at his shoes.
"i know i'm lucky. but i don't understand why. she deserves better," said archie. there was a silence between the two as they sat on the bench together. until archie spoke up. "so you like betty, huh," said archie. "shut up, dude," said juniper, slightly smiling. "you tried... yknow-" juniper cuts archie off. "NO. no. yknow i really don't wanna talk about my love or sex life with you thank you very much," said juniper standing up. archie stood up with her. "thanks, andrews. for this stupid talk," said juniper, hugging archie. "sure, jun," archie replied, hugging back.
