The shrill sound of five alarm clocks at once rips you out of your deep slumber. Everyday it's the same story. All of you girls need to get up at the same time, so one alarm clock would absolutely suffice, but for some reason, none of you wanted to give their own up.

You groan and slap the one on your nightstand to get it to shut up. Thankfully your roommates are all quick to do the same and the dorm is filled with silence again. This doesn't last long though, as Julie Armadill is, as usual, the first one to let out a big yawn and then get out of her bed.

"Good morning!," the curly-haired girl exclaims joyfully as she opens her wardrobe and starts rummaging through it, making quite a bit of noise. You can't believe that she is this energized at such an early hour. You're not sure how much sleep you really got after getting back to the Ravenclaw tower, but it couldn't have been a lot more than a couple hours.

The other three girls you share a room with, are slowly starting to move as well. There's Leontine Harpis, a sweet, quiet girl, who has a big affection towards animals. Especially towards her pet rat named Fetcher, who you secretly can't stand. You even think he's a little terryfing looking... although you would never tell her this.

Then there's Daisy Chalks, who is a bit feisty, but quite approachable once you get to know her better. She's always able to make you laugh, that's for sure.

And the last girl is Jane Haywood, your best friend in the world. You don't think you've ever met a soul as kind as hers. Her grades are impeccable as well, which is really convenient for you because by partnering up with her in Potions class, you managed to actually get decent marks in this hated subject of yours. You have befriended each other on the very first day at Hogwarts and have been inseparable since.

You're the only one still lying in bed now. You're not ready to move a muscle yet. At least you're eyes are open now and you focus them on the ceiling. Suddenly it dawns on you. What the hell happened last night? For a second, you even consider that all the events where just part of a really realistic dream. But no. This was real. You snuck out, first of all. That in itself is very unusual and out of character for you, you don't understand what came over you. And then of course – TOM. Not only did you meet him at the Great Lake unexpectedly, but you actually had a conversation with him. One that you really enjoyed towards the end, mind you. You shake your head in disbelief.

Suddenly, you feel the weight of someone sitting down on the side of your bed. You sit up to see who it is and look into Jane's friendly face. "Morning, sleepyhead," she says with a warm smile. "Any plans on getting up soon?" You sigh and rub your eyes. "Sure, just give me a minute. I didn't sleep well last night." That's a bit of an understatement. Concern washes over Jane's face. "Again? Maybe you should visit Madame Blainey. I'm sure she could give you something to help you sleep better." The Hogwarts matron is used to students coming to her with all sorts of complaints, so issues with insomnia probably would probably not present much of a challenge to her.

"Maybe..." You let out an enormous yawn. Jane giggles at the noise you just made, then stands up. "Come on now, I don't want to miss breakfast because of you." You hesitate. Part of you wants to tell Jane all of what happened last night right now, but Daisy and Leontine are still in the room, busily getting ready. Julie has already left for the bathroom. Jane notices your change in demeanor and looks at you with her eyebrows raised. "Do you need to talk about something?" She knows you so well. You quickly nod. "We can do that over breakfast though; I'll hurry."

So you do. You quickly put on your Ravenclaw uniform, brush through your hair and then make your way to the shared bathroom. The cold water touching your face as you wash it, helps you to feel a little more awake. Eventually, you and Jane are both cleaned up and on your way to the Great Hall.
