Jane and you sit a bit secluded at the breakfast table.

In a hushed voice, you describe what you saw in great detail. You also tell her about the previous dream you had, where you saw Tom wandering the halls and being in search of something. After you finish, Jane just stares at you for a while.

"I agree. That wasn't a dream."

You sigh of relief. That she confirms your suspicions makes you feel... a little less crazy. But at the same time – of course that doesn't make the situation any simpler.

"Right? But what is it then? A... vision or something?"

You almost feel ridiculous for saying that. But to your surprise, Jane nods.

"Yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking. I'm just wondering... most of the time visions are either in the future or the past... which was it?"

You process her words. Then you ponder for a second and a realization hits you.

"I remember now...", this detail didn't seem important to you before. "He was wearing the same clothes in the bathroom as he did at Slughorn's party."

Jane furrows her brows. "So... it was definitely that same night... curious. Maybe you're able to actually see the present... I've never heard of that before."

You start to feel a little creeped out.
"But, why? Why me? I've never had visions before, why can I see what Tom Riddle is up to in the middle of the night?"

Jane shakes her head. "I'm not sure... I mean you've always been sensitive. Remember what Professor Sterling said? Your third eye is opened." She grins.

You and Jane took Divination in your fourth year, hoping for an easy credit. It turned out – for you it was easy, for Jane not so much. The Professor Imugreth Sterling, a curly-haired, quite eccentric older woman, was absolutely smitten with you. She swore that whatever you predicted in the tea leaves showed great "sight". Whatever that meant. Her compliments never meant much to you, since you only made up something whenever she asked what you could see in the tea leaves or crystal ball. You and Jane decided that this subject is bogus and dropped it.

But maybe she wasn't so far off... maybe you truly do have a gift. You blow out air and lean back in your seat.

"This is all so confusing. I just wish I knew what the hell is down in that pit..."

Jane watches you carefully. "Me too. What do you think, should we research a bit in the library later? Maybe we'll find something."

You nod slowly. "That's a good idea." You smile warmly at her. "Thanks for helping me with all this."

She grins. "Don't worry. I'm just as curious to figure all of this out as you are."

The school day is boring, especially since Professor Binns manages to make even the most interesting topics a snore fest.

You don't see Tom at all. He wasn't at breakfast and you don't share a class with him today. But you're kind of glad about that. You don't know how you would react to him after what you saw yesterday...

When the last class of the day, Care of Magical Creatures, finally comes to an end, you and Jane rush over the school grounds to get to the library.

You can't wait to do some research. What could Tom have possibly discovered there in the bathroom? But you know it's not going to be easy... Hogwarts is filled with mysteries.

Your best friend and you immediately get to work and search through the many, many shelves.

As soon as you've collected about five books each, you take a seat in one of the corners.
