"So, Katie, do you wanna come back to our hotel room and have a movie night?" Jon asked.
"Sure. I'd love to hang out with you guys." I said.
"Awesome." He was such a little kid sometimes.
We all laughed a little bit and then headed back to the hotel. I told them I would meet them there since I wanted to go put my bags in my room and see who my roommate was.
When I opened the door to my hotel room I dropped my bags. The person I saw was someone I missed dearly. "Paige?" I asked.
"Hey. How are you?" she asked.
"Good. What are you doing here?"
"I'm returning." she said.
"That's awesome. I missed you." I said.
"I missed you too." she said.
We talked for a little bit and then I walked out of the room and went to Jon's. I knocked on the door and Joe answered. "Hey." he said.
"Hey." I said. I walked in hugged Jon from behind. He quickly put his phone away but I saw what he was looking at so I smacked him in the back of the head. "You're such a perv." I said.
"No I'm not. I just haven't met anyone yet. I gotta have something that I can look at for now." he said.
"Dude. You're disgusting." I said. I walked into the kitchen and looked at the thing of brownies that was sitting on the counter. It was almost gone. "Jon. Seriously?"
"What?" he asked.
"You ate all of these brownies? They were full just yesterday." I said.
"Yeah. I did. So what?"
"I hope you worked all of that off. You aren't gonna have anything left if you keep eating sweets like that." I said.
"I know. But brownies are my favorite." he said.
I chuckled. "Mine too." I said.
"Okay. Let's start this movie." Joe said.
"Good idea." I said. "What are we watching?"
"Porn." Jon said.
"You would." Joe and I said together.
We all laughed and then Jon picked a movie. He was gonna put us through torture. The Human Centipede.
When it got the part where they were stitched together I stood up. "I think I'm gonna be sick." I said. I walked to the bathroom in Jon's room and sat there. I didn't throw up which is good. I just sat there and then walked to Jon's bed and sat down.
The door opened and Joe walked in. "You get sick too?" I asked.
"No. I just wanted to come check on you. You okay?" he asked.
"Yeah. I never can handle that movie." I said.
"Then why do you watch it?" he asked.
"Have you met Jon?"
He chuckled. "Yeah. He's kind of sick and twisted."
"I swear every time we have a movie night that's the movie he wants to watch. It's like he gets a high off of it or something." I said.
"That's Jon for you." He sat down beside me.
"So how come you haven't been working lately?" I asked.
"I had hernia surgery. I was out since Night of Champions." he said.
"I'm sorry. That must suck." I said.
"Yeah. It does. But it helped to have my daughter and my parents around."
"You have a daughter?"
"Yeah. Her name is Joelle. She's six." he said.
"Where's her mom?" I asked.
"She left when Joelle was born. She thought it was better to go out and party all the time instead of being a mom." he said.
"That's horrible. I had a dad that did that." I said.
"Sometimes people do things and you don't understand but I think eventually you thank them for doing what they did because it taught you that you can survive without them. You don't need them. You don't need your dad. You have Jon who is the best friend anyone could have. And now you have me." he said.
"And what are you exactly?" I asked.
"I can be anything you want me to be."
I smiled. "Thanks."
"You're welcome. So, do you think the movie's over yet?" he asked.
"Knowing Jon, he probably restarted it." I chuckled.
"Yeah."
"You wanna go get some food with me?" I asked.
"Sure." he said.
We got up and walked out to the living room area. "We'll be back. we're going to get some food." I told Jon while I shielded my eyes from the TV.
"Both of you?" he asked.
"Yeah. You're movie is disgusting." Joe said.
"Okay. See ya." Jon said.
Joe and I walked out of the hotel room and started down the elevator. We went over to a nice restaurant that had gourmet food. Jon had taken me here once because he was craving the food. It was really good.
We ordered food and when it came we started eating and having nice conversations.
My phone rang and I looked at it. Mom was calling me. I answered it. "Hello?"
"Hey sweetie. How are you?" she asked.
"I'm good. How are you mom?" I asked.
"Not great. Listen, I called because I got a letter this morning about your father. He's out." she said.
My heart sank. "What? Why?" I asked.
Joe looked at me with concern and curiosity.
"I'm not sure. But I do know that when he gets wind of where you are, you won't be safe anymore. I'm gonna do everything I can to make sure he doesn't find out where you are but if he does you need to get out of there. Okay?"
"What about you?" I asked.
"I'll be fine baby. You just worry about you." she said.
"Thanks mom." I said.
We hung up and I just sat there picking at my food.
"Everything okay?" Joe asked.
I looked at him and gave a little smile. "For now, yeah." I said.
"Anything I can help with?" he asked.
"No. It's my problem. It'll always be my problem." I told him.
"If you need me I'm here. Jon too." he said.
"Thanks." I said.
We finished eating, got some food for Jon and went back to the hotel. I just wanted to be alone so I went back to my hotel room and just passed out.
