We were back at Raw a few weeks later. I knew I was gonna be okay. I had Joelle and Joe to keep me in check. I was smiling and laughing like I used to before.
Joe and I had already done the adoption so Joelle was now my daughter, legally. I was happy about that.
I was in my locker room getting ready for my match with Paige tonight. We were going one on one and I was scheduled to lose the championship tonight. I know what you're thinking, I've had the championship for over a year. Yes, I have. I'm just that good.
Right before my match, I was standing by the gorilla stretching and getting pumped up. Paige was standing beside me. "So, Jon and I are together now." she said.
"What? Since when?" I asked.
"Since just a few minutes ago. He just asked me and then disappeared."
"Yeah. Jon does that. Don't take it personally. He'll warm up to you and start being there more." I told her.
"Yeah. I'm not too worried. I actually understand. I got used a lot too." she said.
"Yeah." I said. "Well good luck to you tonight. You're gonna need it champ."
"That has a really nice ring to it, don't you think?" she asked.
"Yeah. It does. I'll see you out there."
Paige's music started and she went out. I smiled after her. She really was one of my best friends.

Towards the end of the match, Paige was getting me in the PTO. I tapped quickly because it really was painful. Her music started and she walked up the ramp. I sat there looking at her pretending to be disappointed.

Joe and I had gone to Arkansas to see my uncle and we were happy. Uncle John said that he had a surprise for us and I was excited.
When we got there we walked in and called for him. He walked out of the kitchen with Joe Nichols.
"Oh my god. You're Joe Nichols." I said.
"Yeah. I am. You must be Katie." he said.
"Yeah." I said.
"Joe Nichols is a good friend of mine and he has a concert tonight here in town. Do you wanna go?" uncle John asked.
I turned to Joe and smiled. "Do you mind? I know you don't like country music so it's up to you."
"Anything for you. Let's go have fun." he said.
"Yay! Thank you!" I said hugging him.
"You're not just gonna go to the concert. Your uncle here tells me that you have a good voice. How would you like to join me on stage for a song of your choice?" Joe Nichols asked.
"Seriously?" I asked.
"Of course. How about it?"
"Absolutely but it's gotta be The Impossible." I said.
"Deal."

We were backstage at the concert. Me, uncle John and Joe. I was absolutely nervous right now. I had never sang in front of people. I never really liked to sing in front of Joe.
Joe and I were standing next to each other waiting for me to go on. "Are you okay?" he asked.
"I'm so nervous right now." I said.
"You're gonna do great babe."
"You think so?"
"I know so."
Joe Nichols announced the song and me and I kissed my husband before walking out there.

JOE'S P.O.V.
"You think so?" she asked.
"I know so." I said.
Joe Nichols announced the song and Katie and she kissed me before walking out there. I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked to the right to see John right beside me. "You've got a wonderful woman there." John said.
I smiled. "Yeah. I do. She's amazing."
"Yeah. You should have seen her growing up. She has a smile that's worth a million dollars."
"I love her smile. It brightens my day."
"Just do me a favor. I know she says that she's not hurting about her dad passing away but I know she is. Just look after her, okay?"
"I always do. But I have a feeling she really isn't hurting. I think it hurts her more with idea of what they could have become not so much that he's gone. I do know, when it's your time to go, she's gonna be a wreck." I said.
"Yeah. So you have a daughter, huh?"
"Yeah. Katie just adopted her so she's pretty happy about that."
"Katie's always wanted to be a mom. She used to play with her dolls and pretend they were her babies. She had about twenty of them."
"Twenty?" I asked.
"Yeah. But even as a little girl not really knowing much about motherhood, I knew she is gonna make an amazing mother." he said.
"Yeah she is."
"Listen, I know that I'm her uncle and stuff but I'm also yours now so if you need anything all you have to do is let me know. I'll try my hardest."
"Thanks John. That means a lot. I was actually pretty nervous to meet you. I mean, I know it's normally the father I should be nervous about she kept telling me how important you are to her and how special you are and the more she said it the more nervous I got. You should feel proud." I said.
"I am proud of her. Everything she's accomplished and done with her life. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me."
"Me too." I said.

KATIE'S P.O.V.
I just got done singing with Joe Nichols and I ran backstage into my man's arms. "You did great." he said.
"Thanks. I loved it up there. It was amazing. Do you think they loved me?" I asked.
"Almost as much as I do." he said.
"Aww." I said. I kissed him.

We were back on the road at the hotel and I didn't feel good. Joe had gone out with Jon while I was in the hotel room. I called Nikki. "Hey. I need you to get me something."
